War priest build

Advice

So I have been putting together a war priest build and was hoping for some advice.

House rules that affect this build are the elimination of combat expertise and int 13 requirements from any feat that has them as a prerequisite.

Also all non classes that are not int based casters get a minimum of 4+skills.

Human War Priest of Chaldira Zuzadlara.
20pb

Str: 16 + 2 = 18
Dex: 14
Con: 12
Int: 10
Wis: 13
Chr: 10

Traits:
Adopted -> Helpful
Fool for Friends

Feats
1: Combat reflexes
Human: Bodyguard
WP: Weapon Focus (Bardiche)
3: Gang Up
3 WP: Power Attack
5: In Harm's Way
6 WP: Weapon Specalization (Bardiche)
7: ???
9: ???
9 WP: ???
11: Divine Interference

Going to get benevolent weapons and armor.

Any advice on this? Trying for a reach build protector vibe using aid another. Asked my GM and order of the dragon does not stack with helpful.

So are you aware and using the FAQ for bodyguard? Where you must be adjacent to your friend AND threatening the enemy? And if so, you'll probably be taking a -4 to your attacks because your friend will grant soft cover.

I thought I could stand one square behind and to the left or right of my ally. This should mean that as long as the enemy is directly in front of my ally I can attack without soft cover correct?

Blessings will be Trickery and Good btw.

here's how it works
E = enemy
a = ally
y = you
o = empty

Soft cover
oEo
oAo
Yoo

oEo
oAo
oYo

oEo
oAo
ooY

Eoo
oAo
ooY

ooE
oAo
Yoo

No cover

ooE
oAo
ooY

ooE
oAo
oYo

Eoo
oAo
oYo

Eoo
oAo
Yoo

Over half of the ways to set this up grant cover to the enemy, and of those I say the most common setups are the ones that grant cover.

I don't think that's right, doesn't reach use ranged rules for cover?

which means you only need a clear shot from one of your corners, not all of them.

even then, no cover is only a phalanx formation feat away

Ah I see.

Thank you.

So feats will be.

Feats
1: Combat reflexes
Human: Bodyguard
WP: Weapon Focus (Bardiche)
3: Phalax Formation
3 WP: Power Attack
5: Gang Up
6 WP: In Harm's Way
7: Weapon Specalization (Bardiche)
9: ???
9 WP: Outflank
11: Divine Interference

yes reach uses ranged rules to determine cover, that's why

ooE
oAo
oYo

Eoo
oAo
oYo

have no cover. Using melee rules they would have cover, but ranged/reach rules they do not.
Yup that feat is amazing for reach users.

Are there 2 other melee members in the party for gang up to work for you? and you're getting your teammate to take outflank so that it does something right?

I do not know what the rest of the party will be. This is for our next game which will be after we finish Iron Gods. We just started book two.

All of our mellee usually takes outflank. Someone usually takes menacing as an enchant as well.

I was also thinking about taking quicken blessing at 11th or 13th to quicken a summon.

Any suggestions about how to make this more effective?

I really appreciate the help so far.

So I am thinking I will take Swift Aid at 9. I have a few questions however.

1.) Swift Aid is a +1 as a Swift action. My trait fool for friends would make it a +2 correct?

2.) If I have benevolent on my armor and weapon, my Swift Aid for AC would then be 2 + weapon enhancement bonus + armor enhancement bonus correct?

3.) Aid another bonus is untyped so if on my turn I Swift Aid someone and then Bodyguard Aid them they would gain 5 + 2 + (2 x weapon enhancement bonus) + (2 x armor enhancement bonus) correct?

Feats would then be:

Feats
1: Combat reflexes
Human: Bodyguard
WP: Weapon Focus (Bardiche)
3: Phalax Formation
3 WP: Power Attack
5: In Harm's Way
6 WP: Swift Aid
7: Gang Up
9: Weapon Specalization (Bardiche)
9 WP: Outflank
11: Divine Interference
13: Quicken Blessing

Thanks again, and any further advice is appreciated.

For the vibe you're going for, have you looked at Combat Patrol? It would require sinking a feat in Mobility for the pre-req, but it could add to your character.

Prerequisites: Combat reflexes, Mobility, base attack bonus +5.

Benefit: As a full-round action, you may set up a combat patrol, increasing your threatened area by 5 feet for every 5 points of your base attack bonus. Until the beginning of your next turn, you may make attacks of opportunity against any opponent in this threatened area that provokes attacks of opportunity. You may move as part of these attacks, provided your total movement before your next turn does not exceed your speed. Any movement you make provokes attacks of opportunity as normal.

I thought about combat patrol but the fact that I am using my aoo's for Bodyguard, the relatively tight positioning that Bodyguard requires, and the fact I lose my entire turn for it made me decide against it. Thank you though.

Are there any feats or items that increase the Aid another bonus?

So it looks like my final build will be something like

Human War Priest of Chaldira Zuzadlara.
20pb

Str: 16 + 2 = 18
Dex: 14
Con: 12
Int: 10
Wis: 13
Chr: 10

Traits:

Fool for Friends

Feats
1: Combat reflexes
Human: Bodyguard
WP: Weapon Focus (Bardiche)
3: Phalanx Formation
3 WP: Power Attack
5: Shield Focus
6 WP: Swift Aid
7: Shield Brace
9: Weapon Specialization (Bardiche)
9 WP: In Harm's Way
11: Divine Interference
12 WP: Gang Up
13: Quicken Blessing
15: Outflank
15 WP: Vanguard Style
17: Vanguard Ward
19: ???

Blessings
Trickery
Good

Feats I have considered but rejected.

Combat patrol.

Items I am going to buy:

Benevolent weapon enchant.
Benevolent armor enchant.
Ring of Tactical Precision.

Items I have considered and rejected.

True love's locket
Gloves of arcane striking (Want this one but would have to completely rebuild.)

Gang up, Outflank, Vanguard Style, and Vanguard Ward are all mostly filler.

I am thinking of taking Additional traits for fate's favored and battlefield disciple.

Any advice on items or feats?

Humm, Just saw harrying partners. Have to think about this one.
