Race for the Runecarved Key is coming to Con of the North (February 17-19, 2017)!
The Minnesota Pathfinders will be hosting seven sessions of PFS play at Con of the North, including the interactive special Race for the Runecarved Key Saturday evening! We currently are planning on having at least four seeker level tables (and we are willing to add more if we get the GMs and players to fill them). This may be your only chance for a long while to get your character up to 20th level!
Included in the fun will be the Tyranny of Winds series (1-5, 1-5, 3-7) and the Forged in Flame series (both 5-9) - which will be offered in their entirety at least three times each during the weekend - along with near-continuous Adventure Card Games, PFS Quests, and PFS Academy.
Con of the North is the Twin Cities' longest running games convention, run by an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing you the best in gaming every year! The 25th annual Con of the North is February 17-19, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West. Visit the About Con of the North page for more information.
We still have room for plenty of GMs, for all sessions, if you are interested in helping out!
We hope to see you there!

Of note: please register for the Con as soon as you can through the CotN website, so that you will get the best possible opportunities to get the games that you want.

It is under 2 months before this happens!
Con of the North is coming up fast, and we still could use a good number of GMs to help fill our ranks, not to mention players to fill our tables!
Our meetup for the event is here, though I am listing this so that you can find the GM signup, since registration is handle by the convention.
If you are signing up to GM, please contact Keith Apperson, AJ Torgerud, or myself, so that we can make sure to have the contact information that we'll need to get you the scenarios and such!
We look forward to meeting you all at many of the 150+ tables we'll be running!

How'd this convention go.
Con of the North is a great convention. This year was no exception. The entire convention is well run and organized. The Pathfinder Society events are held in their own, large room. The Venture Officers who organize, muster and generally assure everything runs smoothly and all questions have answers do a fantastic job; you couldn't wish for a better group of people.
If it's within your means to make this convention (held around Valentine's Day every year), I highly recommend attending. And for those of you worried about traveling to Minnesota in February, the temperatures this year were near 60!

I want to call out my fellow organizers: Venture Captains Jack Brown and Keith Apperson, and Venture Lieutenants Jolene Danner and Erica Lopnow for their amazing hard work.
I also want to thank our special guests from other regions: Jason Rosauer from Sioux City; David Baker, Leesa Coombes-Baker, and Stuart Christie from Manitoba, CA; Zack Nagel and Aaron Malone from Madison, WI; Kyle Sykora and more! It's amazing to see so many of you year after year!

It is always held on President's Day weekend. It just happens to coincide with Valentine's Day quite often. I think this was the first year in what, 4 or 5 that CotN did not include VD.
And you all should totes roll up because we will totes roll down to Omaha.

That's the plan! While we did well this year (especially considering many external factors) we did lack in unique and new players. This doesn't surprise me, but it does reinforce the whole "go to other cons and they will come to yours" thing. Since I'm in charge of my own con, I can always move it around and not have it share the same weekend as CotN.
Plus, I just love Minnesota. All of it. Especially Paul and Babe.
