PFS NDA / rules - Can you email / use print service scenarios?

I am slated to GM a scenario this weekend but due to conflicting schedules it looks like my venture captain won't be able to drop off the printed scenario for me to run. I asked him to email the scenario to me so i can print and prep it but he thinks that emailing the digital copy would be violating NDA or other PFS rules.

It is a season 8 scenario but one that anyone can buy already so i don't see any issue with early access or such. I will probably prep one of the season 6 scenarios that i have (humble bumble :) instead, but it would be nice to be able to use a print service or simply email the scenario in the future rather than the strict security that we have now.

So that being said, is my venture captain being overcautious or are you really violating PFS rules by:
- emailing a scenario?
- using a print service like UPS store to print the scenario for pickup by another member?
- is faxing the scenario ok? faxing to an email address?

One printed copy is allowed.

Can we get a more complete breakdown for future prosperity?

I'm really curious what RAW is on this. I sometimes use print services to print the scenarios or maps and have been quizzed occasionally on it by the print service.

Edit: Ninja'd. Thanks for the link.

No problems. Vic Wertz says just showing the FAQ should be all that's needed. But bring it up with your local PFS group if you ever get issues and I'm sure someone can direct you to less troublesome print shops.

By the responses it seems like most pfs members don't see any issue with sending/printing the scenarios as long as you make sure the printed copy end result is given back to the venture captain (to make sure only 1 copy has been made).

Sadly, I don't think i'll be able to convince my venture captain of the same.

Thanks for all the links Protoman!

Gorignak227, it is likely that the Venture Captain wants to avoid having too many digital copies floating around (or more likely has been instructed so by the Regional Coordinator). If one jumps the fence and gets into the wild with his name branded on it (watermarked on the bottom), it will look really bad for him. I'm sure he has no doubt in your integrity, but Best Practice is to minimize the passing around of the digital files.

Ya, possibly. But if you can't even trust using a print service like the UPS store then i think you're entering the same realm of rules of questionable effectiveness as the TSA and confiscating nail clippers.

But hey, my charisma is too low to convince him so these new pfs players will get season 6 robots and like it!

In general the watermarked digital copy is not supposed to be distributed or leave the owner's possession, if a PDF with your watermark shows up on a file sharing site, its still their fault. Link where this was verified

Would it be possible for someone to drop it off to you or to the game store and allow you to pick it up?

Why not just buy the scenario? If its available $3.99 isn't all that much.

I know getting it for free would be better but sometimes if there is a time crunch you have to do what you have to do.

Self service printing at a FedEx Office has been my go to.

Less human interaction, the better.

The drop off plan already failed but its not really a big deal this time since i'll just run a season 6 scenario instead.

Would love to save time & hassle in the future though...
