After having just run a two year campaign in Kae Maga, using City of Strangers and AP63, The Alysiam Stone, I find myself wanting more details on this city. For a GM/DM it is simply rich story telling.
What do I want from my Paizo overlords? A box set containing:
* 3D Map (cardboard)
* Related pawns (similar to what can be found in the Shattered Star Pawn set)
* By district random encounter tables (more than the small chart in the City of Strangers)
* More details on....... Everything!
* Autographed photo of James J. Sutter (ok, maybe not)
Mostly, I want that 3D cardboard map.
Please.....

Eh, maybe.
Both are awesome, but aside from the main character there's not really a connection between the two.

They are both great books, Death's Heretic was a Barnes and Nobel award winner the year it came out. Redemption Engine mentions events from Death's heretic, but I don't think it spoils it in any way. If you read DH first, you have a little more details on Salem's history going into the story, but if you have decent knowledge of the inner sea countries (IE Rahadoum), you shouldn't get lost.

Finishing up the Asylum Stone myself. I ran Godsmouth Heresy and Seven Swords of Sin as well to make it a mini Kaer Maga mega-dungeon. Higher level material would be great.
I love the moral ambiguity of Kaer Maga. It's GM/DM gold.
In my campaign the focus was on saving the city, which created some nice roleplay moments for the good aligned PCs (protecting the innocent collateral damage). In the end, the city was saved by turning it into a city worth fighting for with no slavery or undead.
It was truly epic!
