So I'm having a little trouble understanding the 6th level ability from the Sensei Monk, and would like some clarification.
At 6th level, a sensei may use his advice ability when spending points from his ki pool to activate a class ability (using the normal actions required for each) in order to have that ability affect one ally within 30 feet rather than the sensei himself.
Does this mean that I have to activate my Advice ability every time I want to use Mythic Wisdom?
For example, if I was a 7th level Qinggong Sensei and wanted to grant both +4 dodge and True Strike in the same round, then would I be unable to do so since the Advice ability would require two Move actions to activate it twice?| Gulthor |
Well, it does eat one use of your finite advice/day, regardless of the action.
(And don't forget to RP! Cry out wise words appropriate to the ability being granted, e.g. for dodge you could say "Bob! Duck!")
The wording isn't especially clean, but that's how I read it as well.
I would think you'd end up using 1 round of advice in addition to your ki points.
Now the real question is (like with bardic masterpieces) can you use this ability *while* you're giving advice?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! (Personally, I would say yes, same with masterpieces - seriously that FAQ is way overdue.)

I'd say yes, unlike with masterpieces.
You can't have two bardic performances at the same time (except for options like Shadowbard or a duet familiar) and IMO masterpieces are bardic performances.
Advice burns rounds while Mythic Wisdom burns Ki points... they are not the same thing, and thus I don't see any reason you can't do both in a given turn - provided you have sufficient actions. Indeed, you should be able to activate multiple 'Mythic Wisdom' grants in a single turn... so a Sensei might spend 2 Ki and a standard action to give the whole party Wholeness of Body, 1 Ki and a move action to pull the Wizard out of trouble with Abundant Step, and 1 Ki and a swift action to give the Rogue Fast Movement... all in a single turn... while also maintaining Advice as a free action.
