So I am playing in a party of 6 as a barbarian, starting at level 1 playing as a young Orc orphan living on the streets of a city. He would be around 10-11 and would wield a weapon above his size category at a penalty. I'm not too concerned about how strong he will be as I really love the concept of an abandoned Orc child finding a family amongst the party.
I want to have a sort of situational rage, where I cannot enter rage myself. My character can only enter rage if seriously distressed (party member dying / knocked out and bleeding, seeing his "family" being greviously wounded, etc) or if faced with a life or death situation. My DM suggested two types of rage:
Destructive rage: +6 strength and +4 constitution, triggered when he sees a friend in distress and will focus only on ending the threat to his friend.
Survival rage: +4 to strength and +6 to constitution, triggered when he is bloodied / brought to less than 0 health, focusing on ending the threat to himself.
Overall just wanted thoughts and suggestions on this and if there has been anything like this done before to your knowledge so I could look at it.

I guess it sounds fine, although I think you could just use the normal numbers are roleplay when you enter rage. The only other thing I would suggest is that you use Rage from the unchained barbarian. Its a change that I'm glad is here, even though it should have been here years earlier. If you are unfamiliar, check it out HERE.
