I've been wanting to make an Envoy of Balance character for a while now, and reading a recent thread sparked my interest once more. Problem being is, I want this character to channel both Positive and Negative energies but without the ties of a diety.
Is there a class that has access to Varient Channeling? Bonus points if they are good as a Holy Vinicator to add channel energy to their weapons.
Does anyone have a good PFS Envoy of Balance build for an aethiest character?
Variant Channeling is specifically tied to portfolio of your deity, though I guess you could ask a GM to allow you to just choose portfolios which fit the theme of your character. However, as GM I certainly wouldn't do it because players will typically choose only the good portfolios (most aren't any good). As for getting access to variant channel, you need to be a class with the channel energy class feature.
As for PFS...this probably isn't very good. Envoy of Balance is often intended for cleric, and clerics have to have deities in PFS. You cannot legally choose to be a cleric of spiritual inclinations. Most divine spell casters require a deity in PFS IIRC.
So you would need to make a non-divine caster for your Envoy of Balance, though I'm not sure what would be the best way to go about it.
