I am currently running the campaign "Rise of the Runelords", in which one of my PCs has raised children.
I am looking for an adventure module in which my PCs could play as these children. Long term goal is to attach the PCs to these characters enough to make them want to play them in Jade Regent, the adventure path which happens after Rise of the Runelords.

Played with this idea for an alt Reign of Winter opening. In fact it might work, only alter the final encounter so they are not stuck in Irrisen. The encounter both a soul bound doll should be creepy.
We be Goblins could be adapted, rather, the final encounter with a goblin witch.
Have her eat children particularly human kids.
Have them visit a haunted house.

I think this is a great idea. The classic child-eating witch would be great. A 10th level gingerbread witch could cook people (maybe another kid just to show what she can do), which would be great, but is going to be way outside of their power level, given that children have to go with NPC classes, and they're probably going to be 1st level. You could lower the level to something like 5th. Depending on the level of your main party, you could have them stomp in and kill the witch as a moment of deus ex machina. Or, you could give the witch a weakness (like water), or otherwise have a group of kids decisively take down a higher level character.

I actually like the idea of the Carnival of Tears Though to be noted if you are wanting to have them play the children in the Jade Regent then the children would have class levels if they do some adventuring before hand. This module takes place in Andorans town of Falcons Hollow but could easily be re-skinned.
Alternatively you could talk to your players about it and see if it is something they would be interested in.
