Investigator Inspiration, Styles, and skill checks

Rules Questions

Helping a friend work on a build for a melee combat Investigator, and we were going over talents, and feats. Looking for Synergy and best ways to use Inspiration.

Expanded Inspiration lets you use a free action, activate inspiration on Sense motive checks without spending a point from your Inspiration pool.

Snake Style gives a +2 to Sense motive, and a Immediate action you can use a sense motive check vs an attack targeting your AC, or your Touch AC.

While I understand its mainly for skill checks, attacks, and saves, does this help by providing a boost to your Sense Motive for an AC with this Style feat?

If you roll a d20, yes, and you do. I have a set up like that on one of my characters.

...it involves so many dice rolls that once I activate Snake Style, my character mysteriously stops getting targeted (and the wizard gets pummeled).

I don't feel it is worth all the feats going into snake style to be worth it. With mutagen and barkskin your AC is actually quite good.

But yes, you can use inspiration on the sense motive check for snake style.
