I'm a fairly experienced GM with 1st edition - 3.5, recently transitioning to Pathfinder. Would like to run an adventure for a bunch of completely new players. Looked at Hollow's Last Hope but wasn't overwhelmed. Thought a PFS scenario might work as they're short, and will only have about 5 hours to play. Or maybe Fangs from the Past?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Pathfinder Society scenarios are good for this. They're intended to be run in 4-5 hours. I'd recommend actually registering everyone for PFS, and making it official. Even if you just play as a home group, and never take your PCs out to public stores or conventions, you have the flexibility of playing with whoever shows up that week, which makes planning easier than a traditional campaign.
For beginning adventures, I'd recommend The Confirmation as a great starting point. Check the PFS subforum for the many, many threads for other recommendations for good newbie adventures, but I really think The Confirmation is the best first adventure.
Though We Be Goblins is another very fun one, where the players use level 1 pregen goblins to play as the "bad guys".

There are many free adventures. Here's a few I found here:
Master of the Fallen Fortress is more of a traditional dungeon (albeit tower) romp and designed for beginning characters. The We Be Goblins series are more tongue in cheek twisted humor as you're playing goblins and fighting dreaded foes like dogs...ponies, etc...
Good luck and welcome to Pathfinder.

The We Be Goblins series have more roleplaying opportunities. Granted all the adventures do in a sense, it's really how the players interact. And they are pretty entertaining if one has the right sense of humor.
If your friends liked the Mummy, Risen from the Sands is a good adventure with an Egyptian spin.
And all the Free RPG modules come with pregens, pregenerated characters.

The first chapters of Rise of the Runelords (Burnt Offerings) or Skulls and Shackles (The Wormwood Mutiny).
You would have to find the updated version of Burnt Offerings since they originally made it for 3.5. But it IS a fun if standard adventure.
The Wormwood Mutiny lets you be pirates (most people would like that). It starts the players out on a ship limiting the chaos they can get into, has a LOT of early focus on role play (if they like that), plus they have a clearly defined goal of just survival. Limiting them from running around in circles trying to figure out what to do. I have run Mutiny multiple times and everyone seems to like it.

If you're interested in doing a full-fledged Adventure Path, Rise of the Runelords is the gold standard for a reason. Lots of opportunity for good roleplaying, interesting and varied adventuring locales, etc.
I know less about PFS scenarios, but I can confirm that We Be Goblins is good fun (but maybe not the best for brand-new players.)
