Do Small weapons weigh less?

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

And if so, by how much? I know Small armor weighs have as much as armor for Medium folk, but I can't easily find anything about Small folk's weapons. This matters for purposes of, for example, the price of my Wayang Psychic's darkwood heavy crossbow.

Dark Archive

From the PRD under weapons > weight:

"Weight: This column gives the weight of a Medium version of the weapon. Halve this number for Small weapons and double it for Large weapons. Some weapons have a special weight. See the weapon's description for details."

Thank you.

It's funny that a small character actually has easier encumbrance because they have 3/4 the carrying capacity, but most of their stuff weighs half as much.

[auote=PRD]Weight: This column gives the weight of the armor sized for a Medium wearer. Armor fitted for Small characters weighs half as much, and armor for Large characters weighs twice as much.

In your post there is a typo and I am sure if you mean "half as much" or not, so I put that citation here.

I noticed that, too - but think of it like ants: Smaller body = weaker pull of gravity = greater carrying capacity proportionate to size.

It also starts to balance out somewhat at higher levels when you start carrying more magical items than mundane ones. A great many wondrous items weigh the same regardless of whether they are worn by a small or medium individual.

But then one of the first magical items you should buy is a handy haversack, so that lightens the non-halved load the other way.
