Overeager question time:
The release on Mummy's Mask is now early October 2016. Now, since I want it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, does this mean it will likely be in stores before it ships to subscribers? This will influence whether I choose to keep my sub for the base set or drop it and re-sub with the character add-on deck.

I assume it will be like every other subscriber shipment; shipping starts a week or two before street date so depending on where you are in the queue and how long things take to get to you, you may get it earlier or later than the street date. Once the October thread is made in the Customer Service forums we should have more details on that.
Edit: Street date is late October according to the product schedule page. The preorders open up early October, and preorders happen before release. Is there something else that lists a schedule change?

This thread made me think to change my shipping preference, since I had it set to "cheapest possible" for the class decks. When I looked at my subscriptions, however, the estimated shipping is nearly $30 no matter what option I pick (and many options are cheaper than the "cheapest option"). Is this normal? Or maybe just an estimation error on the part of the automated software? Because I've sent a PACG base set via USPS and shipping wasn't anywhere close to $30...

You can use email or just post in Customer Service to cancel your subscription. That's the only manual part of the process. I like to call since I find if there's any problems, the CS team can interact with me.
After that, I logged out of my account, logged back in. I went to the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Subscription page, selected to start my subscription with the Add-On pack. Stepped through my purchase in the cart. And I'm done.
It is very easy to do.

Well, I didn't mean to imply it's *hard* per se, but it's rather ... cumbersome? So I seem to remember talk about it being an automated option, where you just chose to skip the Base Set, without having to cancel/restart the sub. But I may be misremembering things.

Keep in mind that your October shipment includes a Base Set, an Add-On Deck, and a Class Deck! (Also a pile of promo cards, but that's negligible as far as shipping goes.)
