Can a polymorph any object be used on a simulacrum of an outsider (11HD) for example, be turned into another outsider with the same HD and have full access to abilities of whatever it's turned into permanently (unless changed back)?

No, you can transform your simulacrum into an object (with no great intrinsic value) or one of the creature types mention in greater polymorph or polymorph.

Yes. That's the same basic effect as "pebble to human" (tiny unliving object to larger living creature).

So I'm curious. I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but I can't find it. How does the Polymorph Any Object spell work as far as Fey/Outsiders/etc. that are not mentioned in that spell, Greater Polymorph, or the description of the Polymorph subschool?

I'll take a link answer or if somebody can point me to where the errata is? I saw one thread in my search that said that it had been answered in errata, but I haven't been able to find an answer..

Polymorph Any Object: no giants, vermin, monstrous humanoids?:

So I was looking over the polymorph any object rules again and noticed that the spell functioned as if based on greater polymorph when used on a living creature.

Now, greater polymorph allows animals, magical beasts, humanoids, dragons, plants, and elementals.

Does this mean polymorph any object *cannot* turn a target into a monstrous humanoid, vermin, aberration, undead, outsider, or giant?

Polymorph any object: Lantern Archon -> Assimar:

So the lantern archon now has the body of an assimar, but can it still use all of its archon abilities such as fly 50' perfect, light rays, SLA's?

My thought is that it would still essentially still be a lantern archon with all same powers, but with the added benefit of thumbs.
