Which Rule Book?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Here's a (probably) silly question for you all:

Is there any reason to NOT utilize the most recent pdf rule book (currently for WotR, unless I'm mistaken) regardless of which base set your're using? I understand that I'll need to use the S&S rule book if I have a question about ships, but other than that, the newest version has most/all the FAQ stuff in it, right?

What do you fine people do?

Silver Crusade

I believe you are SUPPOSED to use the most recent rule book regardless of what base set you're using.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, PF Special Edition, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

For PFSACG Organized Play, you use the most recent PDF version of the rules supplemented with the rulebook for your particular base set (for rules specific to that base set). FAQs aren't always in the PDF rulebook, so be sure to check those too.

For a home game, I recommend doing that as well because a lot of the rules changes are to make things a lot clearer or fix various issues with the older rules.

Grand Lodge

...although it pays to have the Skull & Shackles rulebook for specific nautical rules if you're doing Season of the Shackles, for example.

Thanks everyone!
