So I've been gone for a while. Like gosh Second Darkness maybe? I'd really kind of put Pathfinder to my rudder. I ducked my head back in a time or two, almost ran a PBP or two (but they all stalled out).
But now all of a sudden I hear about this Starfinder thing and I find my interest in Pathfinder reigniting! It reminds me strongly of the old Fantasy Flight Dragonstar setting, which we played to death back in the day--so many awesome stories and probably one of my favorite characters ever.
I am really excited to see how this turns out in a year. Oh man, I might get back into Pathfinder again!
Man, wonders never cease. Congrats you guys!

Actually, for me, its the opposite. Once Starfinder is out I'm done with Pathfinder. I have all the hardcovers, a majority of the Player Companions, a bunch of modules and APs and more third party stuff than Paizo material. Between all that I can do whatever I want and play any kind of game I want. Heck I'm even running a game in outer space right now. And besides that, I have way too many adventures that I haven't run fully yet. There's just too much to do and I dont go through it nearly as fast as I accumilate it, so I'm going to have to ditch Pathfinder (In terms of buying material) so I can play with all the material I have first.

So you're letting PF take the back seat as you try out SF?

I been in a Shadowrun meets Star Wars (WEG) game for some time now - it's been a blast. Whatever StarFinder does, I hope it isn't Spelljammer - although it doesn't look like it is. Don't get me wrong - I was all over Spelljammer when it came out, but it was definitely its own little universe. Dragonstar did a great job also. My concern now, though, is that most of what we get will just be a rehash of Numerian technology and gear. I mean, really, that setting really has all you need for space except the vehicle stats. So, is this just a ploy to sell more monsters, races, and classes? Or will we see a serious step towards Shadowrun/Star Wars technology with d20 class progression?

Yes and no. I'm using Starfinder as a signal to stop buying Pathfinder material but in all honestly its been a while coming because I still haven't finished even 10% of the adventures I own a copy of and outside of goldfishing I have not played with even 10% the classes and options that I want to play with, and that's not including the concepts I haven't thought of yet. Then there's the subrules for making specific kinds of campaigns and then the third party stuff. In terms of purchasing habits I'm just going to stop buying Pathfinder and subscribe to Starfinder. In terms of playing/GMing, I'll be running Starfinder and Pathfinder. When Starfinder comes out I'll probably stop playing D&D 5e more than anything else.
