Hello everyone.
Me and my group are playing Carrion Crown. We made it to level 4 and the second module of the AP, and our GM suggested us to create some "back-up character", just in case our current ones would fall during the adventure (this AP is hella difficult!).
Our current group is composed of:
- Human Paladin of Sarenrae (undead hunter) (ME)
- Dhampir Slayer
- Half-Elf Oracle
- Tiefling Witch
I really like the role of the damage dealer, and I was thinking about playing another martial character, like a fighter or a barbarian, but I decided to write a post here to see if the community has any good suggestion for me.
As for the rules, we are using the Pathfinder Reference Document (PRD) plus Carrion Crown Player's Guide, Inner Sea Primer, and Adventurer's Armory.

It looks like you have a well-balanced party, so if you stay martial, you should be golden.
A bloodrager would be another Charismatic martial with a hint of spellcasting. And depending on what flavor of bloodrager you choose, you might complement the witch and oracle by either taking spells they don't have access to, or combine well with theirs.
A cavalier is like a spell-less paladin with more skills. A swashbuckler is a different take on a charismatic warrior, and mobile enough to help be a flank-buddy with your slayer. A warpriest is a different take on a divine warrior with more spellcasting.

What kind of oracle? There are a lot of combinations and play styles that are influenced by Curse and Mystery and their interactions. And does the oracle do melee or ranged combat or focus on spellcasting?
Does the witch rely on ranged attacks and debuffing hexes & spells? Or does the witch do direct damage or use buffing hexes? Half-orc/half-tiefling pre-errata scarred witchdoctor melee type?

to be fair, as long as you guys don't gimp you character builds you should be quite fine in the not dieing department(since you have a pretty solid party, nor wizard/sorc/arcanist but witches are pretty good debuffers). As a paladin you shouldn't be going down anytime soon save bad dice rolls.
I'd suggest taking some feats that give you more/improve your lay on hands and to get a conductive weapon.
honestly, I would have suggested you to stay clear of the undead scourge,
because-
as some of the bigger baddies in book 2/3 aren't always undead.
that aside, I'd suggest you look into warpriest or even inquisitor.
Warpriest is a lot like a paladin except less smitey, and more casty, with more feat options.
barbarian can do well if you want to be a beat stick (more so if you take 1 dip in lame oracle) just watch out for undead's worst effects, ability drain/damage.
Ranger (TWF/SnB) can make an excellent fighter here too (the obv choices for FE is undead) you just have to find ways to boost your saves.
