You'll most likely have to use a Goblin deck with a Goblin character, but I'm guessing about that. The ability to play "out of class" so to speak has been limited to boons only (even if they are boons you get from playing the season, like the one for Jirelle by completing Adventure 1 of Season of the Shackles).
You can however play Season of the Goblin with a normal class deck, as stated here.
Awesome! My oldest two children (and I!) are really excited for the goblins. My 11-year-old son has already staked his claim on Ak after reading all the character/role cards. :)

The mini-AP also encourages you to shuffle the goblin class deck cards into the box for added goblin flavor. I presume that requires extra goblin class decks to get the cards from. Note that this can make an issue when sorting decks at the end of the scenario. It's not hard to track but just be aware of it.

But it is not a requirement. There is a sidebar that mentions the addition of Goblin class deck boons (of the appropriate level) to the box.
