Slayer Magic Items

Advice

I'm looking into a Slayer build and was wondering what are some recommended magic items for a Slayer, beyond the basics (weapon, armor, cloak, amulet, belt)? Any specific enchantments or wondrous items I should be looking into?

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

There are several items, slayers robes, lenses of the predators gaze, and bloodstaines gloves. They all compliment the slayer nicely.

What kind of slayer?

Archer, 2 weapon fighter, 2 handed, switch hitter?

What kind of campaign is it? As there are items that could be really good if your in certain settings.

What Are some of the Main Enemies you are/will be face a lot of? Is there 1 specific kind showing up a lot?

Is it for a written AP?

Of these three, the former two kinda suck. Both are way overpriced, and the Resistance bonus on the Robe is not at all a replacement for a Cloak of Resistance (since it only works vs your Studied Target).

The latter, however, is a pretty solid magic item. Especially if you know you'll be fighting more of something (Orcs and Giants and the like especially).

Other than that, it's very build dependent since most of the halfway decent items that were good for all builds were nerfed into the ground.

2-hander. Custom campaign with a fairly generic setting (some cold weather at the beginning, but not a common theme throughout). No specific enemies mentioned by the GM so far. Custom, so not an AP.

I am a fan of a Clear Spindle+ Wayfinder for at all time Protection from Evil possession and dominates. Will is a weak save for a slayer.

You can also get the combo that gives Blind-fight if you do not require the above. Blind-fight comes in handy but is hard to dedicate a feat to it during normal progression.

A wayfinder+ Dusty rose Prism= +1 insight AC, +2 CMD and CMB to help add more AC and up your defense against grabs and other Combat maneuvers.

A cracked Dusty Rose Prism. Initiative is important.

I am a Fan of Boots of Favored Terrain as the bonus to Initiative is nice as well as all the other bonuses. But this requires you to be in certain setting more than others.

I am a fan of the Ring of 7 lovely colors. 2k more than a ring of Protection +1 but added benefit of 7/day for 10 minutes be a songbird. This is Flight, This is a scouting tool, this is an escape tool, this means no more climb checks. Lots you can do with this ring.

Thanks Fruian. I always forget about ioun stones, and especially the Wayfinder interaction. I will look into those.

The Headsman Blade is allright. For a slayer most of the time it'll be a cheap +3 keen greatsword. Nothing wrong with that.
