I need music for the Bard!

Advice

I am finally getting to play a bard. She is a Lotus Geisha so my main spells are going to be of the enchantment variety. What I need help with is figuring out real world songs for the spells and the bardic abilities. Please help me figure these out.

So far I am thinking the 'I need a Hero'' song for Inspire Courage. Maybe 'I will Make a Man Out of You' for the Inspire Competence or the spell Gallant Inspiration.

Thank you in advance

Don't worry if the song fits. The most important thing is to have originals that people recognize.

How are you working them on the table? Are you singing? Playing them? Dropping song titles?

In PbP, I've worked up quite a collection of lyrics, but it's hard to know what you need without knowing how you'll use them.

Somebody to Shove:
My skald looking for a fight
Can anybody find me somebody to shove
Ooh, each morning I get up I die a little
Can barely stand on my feet
(Take a look at yourself) Take a look in the mirror and scry (and scry)
Gor’m what you're doing to me (yeah yeah)
I have spent all my years in believing you
But I just can't get no relief, Gor’m!
Somebody (somebody) ooh somebody (somebody)
Can anybody find me somebody to shove?

I hit hard (he hits hard) every day of my life
I fight till I ache in my bones
At the end (at the end of the day)
I take home my hard won pay all on my own
I get down (down) on my knees (knees)
And I start to pray
Till the tears run down from my eyes
Gor'm somebody (somebody), ooh somebody
(Please) can anybody find me somebody to shove?

Everyday (everyday) I try and I try and I try
But everybody wants to put me down
They say I'm going crazy
They say I got a lot of anger in my brain
Ah, got no common sense
I got nobody left to believe in
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh Gor’m
Ooh somebody, ooh somebody
Can anybody find me somebody to shove?
(Can anybody find me someone to shove)
Got no feel, I got no rhythm
I just keep losing my beat (you just keep losing and losing)

I'm OK, I'm alright (he's alright, he's alright)
I ain't gonna face no defeat (yeah yeah)
I just gotta get out and into this world
One day (someday) I'll find someone worthy, Gor’m!

Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove shove shove
Find me somebody to shove
Find me somebody to shove
Somebody somebody somebody somebody
Somebody find me
Somebody find me somebody to shove
Can anybody find me somebody to shove?

(Find me somebody to shove)
Ooh
(Find me somebody to shove)
Find me somebody, somebody (find me somebody to shove) somebody, somebody to shove
Find me, find me, find me, find me, find me
Ooh, somebody to love (Find me somebody to shove)
Ooh (find me somebody to shove)
Find me, find me, find me somebody to love (find me somebody to shove)
Anybody, anywhere, anybody find me somebody to shove shove shove!
Somebody find me, find me shove

rogues heart from dragons age 2 and the bards song by blind guardian (or van canto for an more vocal version)

those 2 are my favorites song for thinking about bards

+1 for this of van canto, probably my favorite for a bard PC too.

And to put my 2 cents in, take a look at the Skyrim Theme by Lindsey Stirling & Peter Hollens for this Inspire moments ;)

Silver Crusade

Do you want pop songs, OP?

This - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0_-c56vg_w - is traditional Geisha music, but you can hardly start singing it at the table. On the other hand, I doubt Geishas listen to video game soundtracks either.

Of course, your character is not in Japan, she's in Golarion (or Greyhawk or wherever) so exact parallels don't apply.

How does she dress and behave? if she's about elegance and enchantments, some folky ballads might work.

Or you could just play yet another video game soundtrack

Look at musicals with minor word alterations. musicals are designed to be quickly quotable with short syllable words.

e.g.

"Jellicle Cats" into Heroish acts = inspire courage.
