can a swarm fight against a swarm? or do they simply miss each other forever?

As far as I can see swarm attack damage is untyped, so it can affect a fine or diminutive swarm, since it's not piercing, slashing or any other weapon damage.
Also it affects an area (the area the swarm occupies) so in facht they would deal an extra 50% damage to each other.
This is as far as i read the Rules as Written. But fluff wise it also makes sense since you have essentially two tiny armies clashing in an adorable bloodbath, where thousands of individuals attack thousands of other individuals.
