Interest Check Dawn of the Orcs

Recruitment

3 people marked this as a favorite.

You are the leader of an Orc tribe. The lands of your ancestors shrink year after year to the humans and their allies as their farms, hamlets, towns, and cities grow like choking weeds. It is time to push back. It is time to take back what is yours by birthright. The time of humans is over. It is your time.

PCs will choose either Orc or Half Orc as a race. Each PC will start with a tribe. Each PC will decide whether to work together or stand alone.

No guns or gunpowder exist.

Huh. Sounds neat!! I would absolutely roll a scarred witch doctor

IF enough interest, being a leader would probably mean we start around 5-8 level

Would Leadership be available as a feat? That would make sense to me

Ooooh I could finally play my half-orc shaman...

Yes, this type of campaign calls out for it, but everyones tribe would start with similar strength and size at the start.

considering the feat, maybe 6th level start would be best

Definitely dotting this one.

What CharGen rules are you going to use? Rolling? Point Buy? Stat Array?

I prefer using point buy, probably 20 point buy

Ability Score Racial Traits: Orcs are brutal and savage. They gain +4 Strength, –2 Intelligence, –2 Wisdom, and –2 Charisma.

always thought the race adjustment for orc was a little too brutal. I'd allow the removal of one mental stat reduction. players choice

interesting.

Very interested!!

How many players ya thinkin?

Start with six, I think

Are the supplements: Orcs of Golarion and Bastards of Golarion available?

Going with Sorcerer with Orc Bloodline.

Grand Lodge

Would you allow the Path of War by Dreamscared Press? It has a Warlord Class. Either that or a Orc Caviler would be cool. Beast rider with a worg.

Silver Crusade

Me likey this idea.

Traits? Wealth by level?

I don't have the supplements, was there something specific you were looking to use?

If its flavor, this campaign isn't necessarily on Golarion. Your tribe, your flavor. Of course, should you start painting fluffy clouds and unicorns on your tents...I'm not responsible for the unholy wrath of the orc gods that you might drawn down on yourself.

Send Me a link to the Warlord's crunchy bits, and I'll give a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

I like your enthusiasm. the answer, is it will be standard for both. 2 traits or 3 traits and 1 drawback.

--------------------------------------
I have been thinking about the leadership feat. While the humans can become mayor McCheese with nothing more than mealy mouthed speeches and a full head of hair, Orcs respect strength.

Orc Leadership feat will use Strength instead of Charisma for leadership modifier.

Additionally, Every tribal leader will get it for free at level 7

Frakking sweet.

@WreckTall - are you going to start up an actual recruitment thread? There's definite interest in this idea, and it would be helpful to have all the character creation rules together.

I think your right. I will do so Friday after work. There are some logistics I haven't decided on.

Jolly good.
Three more questions currently;
Unchained classes/background skills?
How do you want to handle HP?
And, in line with you substituting Strength for the Leadership ability, would you also be cool with allowing us to substitute Strength for Charisma for Intimidate? There's a feat that lets you add Strength AND Charisma, but there's an optional section in the GMG about subbing the modifier.

Grand Lodge

Warlord

Unchained is fine. Yes to background skills.

How do you want to handle HP?
Max 1st, roll or average for remaining

do you have a link

Not offhand, I'm on mobile

I'm inclined to say you can take the feat, but you can't substitute

You are the GM, sir, so that's just fine with me :D

I'm going to have to say no. Let's limit it to Paizo.

Dark Archive

Orcs of golarion have d orc bloodline. While d other book offer other options for half-orcs.

Lastly, i'd like to use d crossblooded archetype.

Grand Lodge

No Worries, I am working on a Cavalier, I went Beast Rider but from the bit of research I have done they don't really get cool mounts till really late. I can understand why but it also seems dumb.

all are good

Edit: to clarify, they are in the SRD, adn I don't have an issue in you using any of them

Dark Archive

Great, will get started. Level 6, right?

Silver Crusade

So I am perusing the "Archives of Nethys" and contrary to what my ARG says I notice they have changed the SWD to cast off of Intelligence.

I don't care for this, I like my Orcs strong like bull, smart like tractor. Can I use the version I payed 50 bucks for?

Yes 6th

What self respecting Orc would pay 50. You should have violently taken it from some leaf munching elf at Paizocon.

I wwas not fond of the errata'd SWD either. As long as there is no Pun Pun exploit you plan to use, then using Con as the casting trait is fine.

I will have a recruitment thread up shortly and will post a link here
