Add new character on web site gives error: That is not a valid avatar name

Every time I try and add anew character on the web site I get an error that says:

That is not a valid avatar name

The entry form looks correct after I choose a class and choose a character name but then fails. I am just choosing a name from the drop down list.

Any thoughts?

I assume you are making an Adventure Card Game character? Can you tell me which class and name you are selecting and I'll see if I can repo the issue internally.

With some advice I found the problem. The profanity filter used by Paizo hates my last name. And a card game character apparently embeds your last name into the character, at least internally.

My name is David K&!%r. So having to ask tech support to have my Paizo Con badge name fixed each year and for other web issues relating to my name has gotten old. So I now have just given up and changed my name for all things Paizo. I am now David Lawrence and all is well.

Sometimes technology works for you and apparently sometimes not.

And I guess we can have a contest to guess my actual last name :-)

LOL. I've run into problems with that exact word in the past too. Sucks that it affects everything for you, since it's your ACTAUL LAST NAME.
