I have this same problem on my iPad. I bought the bundle the game knows I did but it will not let me use the characters. In addition after successfully finishing the tutorial I have 0 gold and no treasure chests. I used to have one treasure chest and based on dialog would have guessed I earned gold
Last Sunday was kind of quiet, 3 players. All of us did 1-2D. Then 2 of us finished up with a win over 1-2E. The next two weeks maybe a little quiet at MOX. This weekend is GenCon. Next Weekend is Dragonflight in Bellevue! So if you would like to play a lot of PACG please join us at Dragonflight Aug 7-9.
I plan to be at Dragonflight and play lots of PACG. And I have offered to volunteer as well. My comments on PAX were not a criticism, more an observation. For some people (me as an example) a brief demo of PACG alone is not going to work as a hook. Given all of the other factors at PAX I perfectly understand the Paizo strategy for PAX.
There is limited space available in the WA convention center at PAX for Tabletop gaming. Given that and the opportunity to reach hundreds of new potential customers a focus on Demo Only by Paizo makes sense. However; There is plenty of space in the satellite hotel meeting rooms that PAX books for tabletop gaming tournaments to run organized play. If a few advocates of the PACG wanted to do this it would be easy. My own first experience of the PACG was a demo at PAX. I decided that PACG was not for me in part because the demo was hurried and simplistic (as you might expect from a short demo intended to support hundreds of players over a few days). Only two years later (because of the Apocrypha kick starter) did I do more research into the game and determine it was a great choice for my preferences. I personally think if they can somehow find enough volunteers to have a remote (as in one of the separate hotels) location for organized play that they can send people to after a demo for a deeper look they would be able to convert more players. I would happily volunteer (and have done so at a couple of smaller conventions) but am already committed as a volunteer for Sentinels of the Multiverse.
I plan to attend on Saturday morning. I have experience with the game and played numerous sessions at Paizo Con so would be happy to help run a table for a couple of sessions. One question: I thought at Paizo Con there were a few class decks pre-built that a player could use as a loan if they did not have a deck or had forgotten one. This seems especially important at finding players at a general gaming convention. Could this be arranged for Evergreen Tabletop Expo? |
