After 20 plus years of gaming, I'm playing my first bard. I've skimmed the basic build concept and have an idea for a basic non-combatant buffer bard. Most of the threads and build advice pages are at least a couple years old. Are there any new traits I should be aware of? Feats and stuff can be sorted out later or even retrained, but I want to get some good traits to start with.

Any specific buffs you want to focus on?
At earlier levels you can find yourself being taxed on performance rounds, so something like Maestro of the Society can be very helpful.
There are traits that can boost the CL of individual spells, enabling better scaling effects (numerically or per round).
It's never a bad idea to take something like Arcane Temper which improves both initiative and concentration checks.
Initiative is always good.
