Is there anyway to duplicate a poison?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So, the party ninja is a poison user and is wondering if there is an item or a spell that will allow them to duplicate a very strong poison, the idea behind it is the poison is very rare and expensive and the party doesn't want to have to find or make more of it. Ive been trying to google the answer but cant seem to find anything, however i remember reading about an item that can duplicate what you pull out of it, (i think it was a bag) but that was awhile ago and I may just be imagining things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't recall a magic item like that.

I don't know an item like that either. I would also nor recommend allowing this in your game, because it's going to be about 10 minutes until somebody decides tu use it to gain infinite wealth.

If you are the GM, you could allow them to research a variant of alchemical allocation that works with poisons.

It could work along the lines that you would have to coat the weapon in the poison (or otherwise use it) immediately, of the spell is wasted. This way you have them spend a spell slot as comparison for saving the money and also circumvent the possibility of duplicating and then selling the poison.

The Exchange

There's an Alchemist discovery, dilution, which doubles potions and elixirs, but not poisons. The discovery sticky poison causes poison you create to remain on your weapon for a number of strikes equal to your Intelligence modifier - which (unless you're a particularly slow alchemist) is going to more than double the use you get out of a poison... but it can't be used to just keep xeroxing poison if that's what you're after. The Master Alchemist Feat allows you to create lots of doses of poison at once, as does the Toxic Manufactory class feature of the Daggermark Poisoner prestige class (and the two combine as well) not to mention the Daggermark Poisoner's Instantaneous Toxicology which lets you manufacture poisons in a single turn as a full-round action - and at 1/10th the price too, if you're going to use it by the end of your next turn.

There is an artifact which can do this... I have to search for it, I'll post again in a bit.

If they aren't willing to invest a minimal amount of effort in getting more of it, then they don't want it that badly. Tell them there are no easy methods of duplication, but they can always research ways of finding more in a big city.

I looked diligently, but I was wrong. Sorry. The item I was thinking of was the Bountiful Bottle

This oddly shaped, transparent bottle has one chamber nested inside the other and two separate spouts, one leading into the smaller inner bottle, and the other into the outer bottle. To use the bottle, the inner chamber is filled with a potion and the outer chamber filled with water. When left alone for 24 hours, the water in the outer chamber slowly takes on the properties of the potion in the inner chamber, creating a second dose of the potion (though the bottle is unable to replicate potions with expensive material components). The second dose of created potion must be quaffed from the bountiful bottle to be effective, and loses its potency if transferred to another container. By expending one use of mythic power, the time it takes to transform a potion is shortened to a full-round action.

While not an artifact, it's a mythic item and also only good for potions... my bad.

On the other hand, I did find this

Copycat Syphon

A copycat siphon is a simple-looking metal tube that can be connected to two flasks, bottles, beakers, or vials of standard size. Three times per day while two containers are connected to a copycat siphon, the user can speak the item’s command word while pouring a liquid (including magical liquids like potions or elixirs) into one of the containers. In doing so, the other container attached to the siphon also fills up with an exact replica of the poured liquid, appearing to all normal senses (including touch, smell, taste, and sight) as if it were an exact copy of the original liquid. However, when imbibed, the copy acts only as fresh water, and has none of the other effects of the original liquid. The created liquid registers to detect spells as if it were the original liquid (as the magic aura spell, Will DC 14).

It's not what your looking for, but would be hilarious to use. XD

Here is an actual artifact that may or may not hold the key, and would be great as an adventure item either way.
