Silver Crusade

Hi,
im playing Cadavar Crown with a Halfling Gendarme of the Sword on a Boar.
Im LvL 5 now and want to take 5 LvL of Fighter (Dragoon) till LvL 10
then 3 LvL Gendarme and end it with Lvl 15 with 2 LvL of Dragoon.

Im the Main Tank of the Group and at the Moment the only viable Melee Option (we might get a Paladin but that's in the Stars).

I plan to get a Fullplate before or on LvL 8 (Armortraing (Dex14)) to maximize it. In addition I plan to get Shield Focus and Mounted Shield.

So my AC is around ~ 25 @ LvL 8 without making it magic.

On LvL 13/14 I will get Riding Trick and Mounted Skirmisher to get Full Attacks after Movement.

What I plan to get for the Boar is Horseshoes of Zephyr to ignore difficult terrain.

My Question is I have 2 Feats open Till LvL 15. I will have by then Mounter COmbat (1), Ride-by Attack (1), Sprited Charge (3) , Power Attack (5) ,Furious Focus (5) , Skill Focus Ride(6), Horse Master (7), Weapon Focus and the Others Mentioned Above.

The Only Books allowed are the Core Book, Adv Class and Race Guide and the Ultimate Books. So no Player Companions or Cities of Golarion

So I need 2 Usefull Feats and a question:
Should I get an Adamant Lance or Focus making it Magical?
My Gm isn't sure if he allows regular Crafting cause of the Time Consummtion. The Day per 1000g on MAgical items is fine thought.

Risky Striker is a useful feat on a halfling lancer. -1 AC for an extra power attack damage is a good trade when you can use it.

Iron Will may be dull but it's a valuable feat. Probably earlier than feats adding a little AC.

A magic weapon is necessary. Adamantine, maybe not.

I'm not sure what you're asking about crafting items?

It was a clarification about the cost.
I cant Craft a Adamant Lance but our Mage is allowed to Enchant them cause it takes much lower time.

A mage can't change a lance into adamantine by enchanting it. There is no option to do so short of maybe a wish spell, even polymorph any object won't do that.

They can if they have the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat enchant it in various ways, the cost depends on exactly what. e.g. to make a masterwork lance +1 it costs 1000 gp.

To be clear if you want a lance made out of adamantine your options are:

Find and buy one. The nominal cost is 3000 gp plus the usual cost of a lance.

Commission a smith to make one while you go off adventuring. Same cost.

If you just want something which bypasses DR x/adamant then a +3 weapon will do. If your mage is 9th level+ and has Craft Magic Arms and Armor then it costs 9000 gp to make, assuming you have a masterwork lance available.

+3 won't do.

Damage Reduction wrote:

Overcoming DR: Damage reduction may be overcome by special materials, magic weapons (any weapon with a +1 or higher enhancement bonus, not counting the enhancement from masterwork quality), certain types of weapons (such as slashing or bludgeoning), and weapons imbued with an alignment.

Ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an enhancement bonus of +1 or higher is treated as a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Similarly, ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an alignment gains the alignment of that projectile weapon (in addition to any alignment it may already have).

Weapons with an enhancement bonus of +3 or greater can ignore some types of damage reduction, regardless of their actual material or alignment. The following table shows what type of enhancement bonus is needed to overcome some common types of damage reduction.

DR Type .. Weapon Enhancement Bonus Equivalent
cold iron/silver .. +3
adamantine* .. +4
alignment-based .. +5
* Note that this does not give the ability to ignore hardness, like an actual adamantine weapon does

You may wish for 7th level of cavalier before leaving the class. At least if you have any cha (which you might- lots of orders use that stat).

The chain challenge feat lets you to challenge another opponent as an immediate action after your target gets taken out- and it doesn't count against your daily challenges. Has to be in a 30' range, but still, not too hard to do for a melee type that gets in there. With this, you could use it as nearly a whole fight buff as you take on 2-3 opponents.

Unfortunately, the extra challenges are restricted by CHA, but there is a minimum of 1. That means each challenge can be used on two opponents/ More than enough to make a nice dent in the opposing line as long as you have some good picks. It basically doubling your challenges per day (with the restrictions, of course), which is even sweeter since you get your 3rd challenge at level 7 too.

Otherwise you build seems fine.

Sidenote- I suppose, if you want to tell DR to go kiss your... you would want a +3 adamantine dwarven maulaxe and a bag of 'oils of bless weapon'. That seems like it could solve most problems (all metals, alignment, maul ax does B or S)

Question of the Cavalier Chain Challenge I have CHA of 12 so I would get 1 Extra Challenge or 2?

Further Adamantine has many more Advantenges but I have to buy it full prize. Gm only allows Crafting for Magic Items.

min of one means that, unfortunately, there is little difference between 12 cha and 7 cha. Unless you get a headband- in that case, it is relatively simple to upgrade and get more links on the chain challenge.
