Help me build a weapon using unchained monk

Advice

I have a pretty firm idea in my head for a weapon using unchained monk. I used the weapon creation rules in the Weapon Master's Handbook to stat up a guando since the image in my head for the character is someone who uses a pole weapon. I gave it the following stats:

Martial weapon
2-handed
1d10 damage
(19-20)x2
{Monk, Reach} special properties

So that in mind, I'm trying to think of the best build that would use that weapon. The primary thing I'm wondering is if it's worth it to take the Ascetic Style line of feats. That will eat up a total of 5 feats, which is a big chunk, but since I'm making the character (it's an NPC) at 16th level, that still leaves 3 feats left, plus monk bonus feats.

Aside from this I've got the character's race (human) and stats mostly figured out:

Str 18-20 (depending on if I do the alternate human racial)
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 14
Cha 8

(As you can see I don't use the normal point buy and have a homebrew stat method for my game)

Is the monk someone who will be adventuring with the PCs, or does he or she appear in a combat or two then bow out? If the former, are they important for what they do adventuring, or for who they are? There's quite different levels of detail and general ability required in these cases.

5 feats? Weapon Focus, Style, Form, and Strike only adds up to 5 feats.

And the last feat of Ascetic Style, Ascetic Strike, doesn't actually do anything for a Monk. Because Ascetic Style uses the same "effects that augment" wording that the original version of Feral Combat Training used, Ascetic Style on its own already makes a monks weapon deal damage equal to an unarmed strike.

The creator of the feat has even clarified that this is what the RAW of the feat is, although he wishes he'd written it differently because this was not the intent.

@avr - Most likely scenario is that this NPC will appear in a combat or two and then move on (or be killed). It's possible the PCs may convince her to ally with them, but unlikely. That said, I am asking for optimization advice, so that's my intention for the character.

@GeneMemeScene - Thanks for the clarification on how Ascetic Strike works and how it won't be necessary for the character to take. It's still going to take up 4 feats: Martial Weapon Proficiency (guando), Weapon Focus (guando), Ascetic Style, and Ascetic Form.

Unlike normal Monk, Unchained Monk is automatically proficient with any weapon with the "Monk" special weapon quality. So only 3 feats.

There is not a single GM anywhere who is forced to use the straightforward but self-evidently unintended interpretation of Alex's mistake. Not. A single. One.

Whoa, I missed that. Now looking like there's no reason not to take Ascetic Style.

For a character who's not likely to be in for the long run, specialising their feats towards something is sensible anyway. You'll want a bunch of feats which you can build into their stats without activating or changing - Iron Will for example - rather than interesting but situational feats.

You might also fill out the feats with Power Attack, Martial Focus, Cut from the Air & Smash from the Air for something thematic but easy to remember. None of this is bad optimisation BTW, it's just keeping it simple by aiming a lot of feats at one destination.
