If a weapon is treated as another weapon (such as a Gladius or a Butterfly Knife) and you have Weapon Focus for what it is treated as, can you take a feat for the specific weapon and still count as having weapon focus as a prerequisite?
For claritys sake, I'll use an example.
Let's suppose you have a one-handed slashing weapon called a Katzbalger that is treated as a shortsword and you have Weapon Focus (shortsword). Can you take Slashing Grace (katzbalger)?
Part of me would say yes since it is a one-handed slashing weapon that is benefiting from WF. However another part of me says no since you had to take SG specifically with the katzbalger because shortswords are not a valid target for SG and therefore you do not have the prerequisite of WF with the chosen weapon. Which is correct?
(I'm aware that Katzbager is not an existing Pathfinder weapon. I needed something to help me visualize the conflict in my brain.)
