Zen Archer (+ki point = extra attack?)

Rules Questions

A normal monk can spend a ki point mid flurry to make an extra free attack, same with an unchained monk. Does the alterations Zen Archer makes to flurry take this extra attack ability away?

Nope. You cna still get the extra attack on a flurry.

How do you know for sure? Doesn't the changes to the flurry negate the extra attack since the original line says "one additional unarmed strike" and there is nothing that changes the "unarmed" part to bows?

It actually says one additional attack. Read it. It would screw over temple sword monks if it was only unarmed strikes. Read the abilities completely and you'll see.

Yes there is no doubt for the vanilla monk, but the Unchained monk has the "unarmed strike" classifier after the additional attack. Would it still work?

Edit: I only ask because my GM was nice enough to adjust the Zen Archer to work with the Unchained Monk, but if I can't get the extra attack than it wasn't worth it.

Barring house rules, you cannot have an unchained zen archer, because with the change to unchained many of the abilities the archetype replaces are altered or optional or just not there.

If you're GM was nice enough to allow an unchained Zen Archer He'll probably allow you to use the ki point for extra attacks.
