Scabbard of Vigor and Ranged Weapons

Rules Questions

I have a question. I acquired scabbard of vigor on one of my chronicle sheets and after reading it's discription I realised it doesn't state what sort of weapon you can use it with. Does this mean that I'd be able to have it work with a musket or other ranged weapon.

Scabbards.
A scabbard is a sheath for holding a sword, knife or other large blade. Most slashing weapons should be okay, but ranged and blunt weapons won't fit.

The scabbard of vigor doesn't explicitly say that you can't use it with a ranged weapon, but I wonder what kind of ranged (projectile) weapon would fit inside a scabbard.

There might be a way if a hurlbat can be accommodated by the Scabbard.

If your GM agrees that you can fit an axe-shaped weapon in there, tthen buy a Shadowcraft Weapon of the one-handed ranged variety (from Blood of Shadows). It can become a hurlbat for storage in the Scabbard. Once you draw it, it can be transformed into any other one-handed ranged weapon, but it should retain the enhancement bonus. Change it into a hand crossbow, pistol, etc. It will even generate quasi-real ammunition if you want.

The much simpler option is to put a thrown weapon, like a dagger, into the Scabbard. Then use it for ranged attacks.
