I had originally asked these on the dreamscarred Press forums, but have received no replies and it has been awhile, so cross-posting time!
1) The 4th level ability of the Ironborn archetype (for Forgeborn Fighters) doesn’t appear to do anything for forgeborn because they do not need to sleep:
Always Armored (Ex): At 4th level, the ironborn can sleep in any armor without being fatigued. This ability replaces the bonus feat normally gained at 4th level.
Am I missing something?
2) The Forgesteed class feature (for the Forgesteed Rider archetype) states that it replaces Mount. Does that mean that it (the Forgesteed) no longer gains the cavalier’s animal companion advancement for their mount? If going by RAW it read this way. But was this also RUI?
3) On a similar note, would it also not start out with combat training and the light armor proficiency? This is under assumption that the entire mount feature is replaced. If just the mount itself and not the mount feature is the change, then perhaps a little bit of wording change may be in order.

I could be wrong, but they are different from the gearforged and do sleep if it is required. The half-construct template says:
Half-constructs do not breathe, eat, or sleep, unless they want to gain some beneficial effect from one of these activities. This means that a half-construct can drink potions to benefit from their effects and can sleep in order to regain spells, but neither of these activities is required for the construct to survive or stay in good health.
2-3) They should have mentioned that it advances, or that it stacks with level of other classes to define the effective level. IMO, it replaces completely. They needed an extra paragraph in there to explain that.

That first one you make a solid point. it is just wierd for that to be on the Fighter archetype...
as for my 2-3, let me copy paste from my copy of the PDF:
Forgesteed: The forgesteed rider’s mount is a mount that, like the forgeborn, has been reconstructed using some combination of minerals, metals, or crystal, and it is always in the form of a horse. This forgeborn mount, like the forgeborn, does not eat, breathe, or sleep. Should the forgesteed rider’s mount die, the rider must spend one week in the process of creating and bonding with a new forgeborn mount. This ability replaces mount.
There are other abilities, but they replace other things already, so to me this feels like a bit of a downgrade.

Yeah i did look at an (illegal) pdf (hey i own a physical copy) and it doesn't say if the mount upgrades, just that it is replaced.
When analyzing archetypes though, we cannot look at replacements isolated, but to the changes as a whole. A lot of the features from the archetype will make your mount stronger, but they replace your order abilities.
I would have to write things down and see if thats a downgrade or upgrade really, because the order changes are fairly strong. I just dont know if they are strong enough to replace extra HP, extra attacks, extra stats, skills and more feats (probably not).
IMO, they intended for it to keep upgrating, but forgot to add the extra paragraph i mentioned earlier. Racial archetypes are usually fairly strong.
