Benefit: Your vision isn't impaired by non-magical smoke, and you gain a +5 trait bonus on Fortitude saves to avoid coughing and choking because of smoke inhalation. This trait confers no benefits against magically created smoke, such as that produced by pyrotechnics.

I was thinking of making a kobold rogue with this trait, but I wonder how often I would be able to benefit from this trait.
What ways exist to get a reliable supply of mundane smoke? (yaknow, with the exception of smokesticks)

Smoke Bomb Alchemists. :)
... Also, Rogues can pick up the "Bomber" talent and a Smoke Bomb upgrade. And the Ninja Tricks also add to it. Kobolds can have some real fun in that.

Hm. While I like that there exist a way to gain the smoke bombs without multiclassing, I'm not so keen on the Int requirement. I also want it to be viable at low levels, so I guess burning down... stuff... and smokesticks are my best bet. Probably gonna have to focus on ranged combat since the smokestick-area won't follow me.
Oh, and I'm making kobold batman, so I can't be burning everything down, but I guess the forests are in some dire need of justice!

@The Skeptical Gnome
Now all I'm imagining is a poor kobold who is being teased by his peers because he can't breathe fire.
"look! it's little smokey!"
"Ha-ha! smokey the kobold!"
"Oh, come on guys, stop it! Can't you see he's fuming with anger?
Tragic backstory confirmed. Kobold batman is still a go.
...
I guess a GM could be convinced to allow a smoke breath attack instead of energy if one took the Draconic Breath feat. But that is still just once per day, so I wouldn't invest a feat for it.
I realized now that I could use Smoke Arrows if I don't want to lose actions in a round, since they can be fired as part as a Full-Attack. Good alternative to smoke sticks, and pretty cheap.
But I guess the list of mundane smoke effects is pretty short, yeah?
Seems like smoke sticks and fire is what I'm looking for.
