As said, pages have been loading very slowly, or not loading at all. This is making it difficult to do pbp games here. I haven't experienced it with any other site, so I assume it is something here. Anything I can do on my end to improve performance? What is the root cause?

That "Humble Bundle" charity sale seems to have overloaded the site. The only thing you can really do is wait for things to settle down.
Ah... that would do it.
I've been having the same issue.
Me too and with my OCD page refreshing it is very annoying. Oh well.

We're doing the best we can to keep paizo.com stable with the influx of traffic coming from the Humble Bundle. I suggest that folks compose longer posts in a separate window in the case that your instance gets cycled (which is likely the cause of the slow-down/failure to load).
