Howdy forum goers. As per THIS THREAD, I'm opening up recruitment for Hell's Rebels.
The first two slots are reserved for Redelia and Shadowlord, and once they have locked in their characters, I'll open up recruitment for the remaining 3 positions.
Here are some spoiler tabs containing my terms and conditions for this rebellion:
- All Paizo classes allowed, no third-party, no 3.5
- Core races. Additionally, tengu, tiefling, aasimar and ratfolk.
- 25 point buy
- Maximum average starting gold for class
- Max hitpoints at 1st, then half+1 every level after.
- Two traits, one must be a campaign trait. I'll allow a third trait in conjunction with a drawback, but the drawback must tie into your backstory sufficiently.
Please provide a brief backstory for the character, as well as why they are at the protest in Kintargo.
Additionally, I'd like a short answer to the following questions:
- What is your character's short-term goal?
- What is your character's long-term goal?
- How would you describe your character in a nutshell?
- How would your character describe themselves (in their own words)?
I tend to prefer games with robust, fun characters roleplaying and interacting with each other. As such, I'll pretty much always take a character that is going to provide better interaction with the party than a character that is finely tuned or interesting in a void.

I'm mulling over several character concepts.
How do you deal with paladins? One of my unplayed characters in my mind is a paladin of Shelyn. I do tend to see her as lawful good, strongly emphasizing the good, sometimes even hugging up to to border with NG in alignment. She is willing to sometimes look away while party members do things she can't approve of to allow the party to do what needs to be done.
I also have in mind a halfling unchained rogue (with an escaped slave background, I actually made her for another recruitment for Hell's Rebels).
The final character I'm thinking about is a human (or perhaps half-elf) ranger/druid/hunter kind of character. I'm not sure how well that would work in a city based adventure, thought. Her animal companion in the past has been a snake, but I can be flexible on this.
These three are all characters I made for other adventures who either were rejected or the adventure never really got started. They have stuck in my mind almost like people, which is why I think I would like to use one of them. They all would be remade mechanically to your specifications, of course.

Phoenix: yeah, I'm feeing it too. It's a nice challenge though.
B
Redelia: with Paladins, I've always understood them to be beholden to their own LG code, but are not so foolish as to expect everyone else to meet their code. So, if your Paladin expresses concern at chaotic actions by party members, but doesn't outright prevent it, I'm still considering that to be a Paladin played right.
As far as Druids/Rangers etc, check out "Heroes of the city". All the archetypes in that are about bringing the traditionally "wilderness" classes into the city, and might have something mechanical that tickles your fancy.

I'm going to go with Investigator here since it didn't work out in Mummy's Mask, or maybe an archetyped Ranger.
On a side note Redelia, I was reading about Milani today and was also considering taking her as well. Perhaps we can tie a little backstory together somehow. I don't have the concept flushed out yet and I'm flexible to work around whatever you've got. Which trait were you looking to use for Kessa?

Ok, decided on an infiltrator investigator who will be focusing on disguises. It's pretty nice and more RP flavorful than mechanic driven - I hope there is room to play dressup! Still working on the crunch and tweaking things. I'll reread the player's guide and flush out a premise for it.
Right now working on an Aasimar who was shunned rather than celebrated at birth and had a hostile childhood because of it (Wary). Her adopted parents tried to make money off her and sold her to some Okeno slavers. There was a mishap on the ship and she escaped before ever actually being sold into slavery. She learned how to disguise herself and look human (Scion of Humanity) to keep out of the limelight and discovered she had a knack for disguises and academics.
Currently have Fed-Up citizen as the trait, but that seems more geared towards Lawful characters I'm looking at CG for Milani, so I may need to change that bit.
Waiting to see what Redelia comes up with so I can tweak it and it in Milani but essentially she got involved with them to fight anything to do with slavery.

Kessa |
I'm sorry it's taking me so long to build this character. The mechanics of the warpriest class seem more complicated than most other classes. I'm submitting this alias because it's the one I will use. The picture is right, the background is mostly right, but the mechanics are all old and do not apply.

Kessa |
What level does this adventure path go to? I want to set Kessa's wisdom high enough to not lose out on a spell level at the end, but I want to get as many points as possible into dexterity (building with Slashing Grace). At level 16, a warpriest gets level 6 spells, so I'm thinking that Kessa needs wisdom of at least 14, because a +2 stat item will get her wisdom to 16. I don't want to go any lower than 14, because she also gets uses per day of special abilities based on wisdom.

Kessa |
The player's guide says we need to pick a reason to protest. Do I have to use one of the premade ones, or can I make up my own? What I would use if allowed is the following:
Kessa's mentor (a gentle old priest of Milani who raised her after she was orphaned) was part of the Rose of Kintargo, and he disappeared recently. Kessa is going to the protest to look for him, or even information on him. Perhaps the mechanical benefits could be +2 to perception and sense motive during the protest, like looking for an idol? I would certainly accept whatever alternate mechanical advantage you thought was better, it's the flavor/backstory connection I'm really after.

Do I understand correctly that you are now taking applicants to join your rebels? If so, this gnome would like to apply, but still finishing the final touches and backstory. I am also still deciding if he is a bard or a sorcerer, but I am leaning toward bard now - at least to start. He is basically a street performer who wants-to-be an opera singer, and quite a little liar otherwise.
