What is the relationship between the gods and the various outsider races in your campaigns? Some are easy to describe. The devils all work for Asmodeus. The angels serve various good deities. But what about the proteans or the inevitables? Is there an ultra-lawful deity who commands the inevitables? Are the demon lords subordinate to or rivals of the chaotic evil gods?

Welp, in my own little multiverse there are deities with domains on every single plane and they pretty much form outsider servants from their own domains petitioners via the same methods as the outsider natives of the plane their domain is based in (aka petitioners via deities whose domains are based in Hell are tortured until they are formed into Devils, for Abaddon they become the hunted and if they're lucky they become Daemons, etc etc).

Outsiders and Divine politics factor heavily into my games so I give the gods a servitor race based on what Inner Sea Gods gave them. Though Calistria is CN, she doesn't command proteans, for example. So far the demon lords are the most prominent and they mostly have an explicit demon type they like. Nocticula=succubus. The fact that there are demons working together despite their masters is the basic plot hook for the first arc.

The Wonderlanders are mostly chaotic neutral outsiders.
Aside from detecting law, smiting law, and having damage resistance a number from 1-5/law they are very diverse. Some look like humans with impossible features such as large heads, noses, eyes, feet, or something. Many are animals who walk, talk, and dress like humans. A good number are objects come to life, such as flowers, grandfather clocks, tooley birds, and rocking horse flies.
They pretty much have their own agendas, but occasionally chaotic neutral gods will send them on missions or allow them to be summoned. They are often quite grumpy about it. They might say things like,"I personally couldn't care less." or"Just take this rod of wonder and bag of beans and let me go home."
