He began having a lot of trouble breathing and checked himself into the hospital. Then his kidneys began to fail. The other day they drained nearly six liters of fluid from his lungs and from around his heart.

Yikes! Positive waves DMC!

*Channels positive energy towards Jerry*

*Offers hugs*

I wish I could do more than this.

You know you have from me all the support I can provide from the distance.
I wish that everything ends in the best way possible.

On a happier, yet terrifying note....

My application to the FTC has been tentatively approved! Basically what this means is I have the job, pending a security check and filling out a few forms. The pay is good, it is now just a waiting period while my bona fides are scrutinized.

So, it looks if all goes well, and if I pass the security screening (please don't obsess on my credit rating..please don't obsess on my credit rating..) I should be in DC by the end of August!

Thanks to all who've expressed concern about my buddy Jerry.

Congratulations on making it this far and good luck on the rest! Having your bona fides scrutinized sounds uncomfortable. Do you have to turn your head and cough?

what caused this, I wonder?

Prayers and thoughts of course, but dear god, what happened?

I'm not a Doctor, mind you, but this sounds like a Systemic Organ Failure. Probably from a virus or something.

Good luck, Patrick.

I had my first session with a personal trainer today. People say you're supposed to feel energized after a workout. I just want to collapse on the couch with a pint of Ben and Jerry's.

Yeah I am scaling back my heavy duty workouts been sucking too much energy away from me lately. Time it seems has finally caught up with me... :-(

I am both happy and sad for you.

Sorry to hear about your friend DungeonmasterCal.

Liberty's Edge

Good news about the job Pat, that sounds really positive!

I do wish your friend the best, DMC.

Second day off, or a substitute Sunday.

Note to self. When you work the night shift and get done at 7 am, don't drink 3 glasses of sweet tea, then start up a new game of Stellaris. Odds are that you will not get much sleep. OTOH, there are some awesome mods out there.

I have come to the consensus that cheddar that hasn't been aged at least three years isn't real cheddar.

That is some sharp thinking.

Sad trombone is better than sad panda, isn't it?

I don't think I will be seeing my wife for the next week or two. The newest expansion for Diablo III just came out and she will be playing it. I am guessing that it will be pizza and take out for a while.

Good luck Patrick!

When I was at store a few days ago Diablo II box costed 79 zloty while Diablo III costed 69. The later was the base game without Reaper expansion. The version with the expansion costed 89... Still, Diablo II being more expensive...

Leaving for a Doctor's appointment. Probably a pre-surgery consultation.

DC area, huh? I think I still know people who live around those parts. My eldest brother did, for few years at least. As I recall, he lived in Chevy Chase, Maryland. And one of my long time friends lived somewhere around there before moving to Florida. Not long after I left Philly, one of my old co-workers moved down to the DC area to work at the Washington Navy Yard. I think he still lives there.

John and I were talking about places we might live when we are finally fed up with the cost of living in NY (which may come sooner rather than later) and Maryland/DC was brought up as a possibility. Mostly because my boss keeps saying he wants to put a financial advisory rep in our company's Bethesda office. But housing isn't that much cheaper there than it is here. Maybe a little. We shall see.

I have some friends willing to help me on the ground. One already steered me clear of an apparent awesome apartment which in reality would have likely led to me being stabbed and left for dead.

Thank you. The only news I have about him is they removed the breathing tube and performed a tracheotomy on him yesterday. He's still on assisted breathing and under sedation, but is receiving more air than before.

If all else fails, you could always move back to Rochester. I mean, it's not like they've got a shortage of vacant houses. And stores. And municipal buildings. Actually, just about everything other than "pollution," "urban decay," and "the color brown."

Just got back from the Doctor's, and I've got good news. This type of tumor is one that responds best to radiation. So, no chemo for me. And no being sick from it. No definite date for the surgery, as the required endoscope is in a different hospital. Going to have a pointed, directed conversation with Corporate's Benefits department. The Hospital says that the Insurance provider says I have no insurance. If so, why is it still being deducted from my pay? I will find out. Oh, yes I will.

So it'll be surgery with radiation followup? Not bad at all, though chemotherapy has improved greatly over the past couple of decades. Best of luck with that, and more luck straightening out insurance. I still don't have my bp pills because my insurance is jacked.

Thanks, Treppa. The money's being deducted from my pay, so there is a paper trail.

Let's just hope the paper trail doesn't lead to the Cayman Islands...

By which I of course mean: Great news about the tumor, John. Good luck!

I feel like that first sentence was used in an ad by their chamber of commerce at one point.

Monroe's ad used to be "Monroe, we'll bring you back!"

I've never returned.

I'm rather fond of 0353, myself.

0353 is OK. A bit dry, but has a nice savory taste

Good Morning, everyone.

Best wishes and prayers to all those having medical troubles. May you all get well soon!

And GOOD LUCK Pat! That IS really good, exciting, if slightly terrifying news! :)

Thanks, Ragadolf.

It just got a bit more terrifying. They want me down there in late July :/

Go Monkey! Go!
