No worries. I was caught in the southwest air issues two weeks ago. Sitting in airport glad I am not flying Delta today. What a mess! Glad you made it back. I will be on business travel until Friday night, so posts could be sparse.

My apologies, I had a last minute no notice travel for work. just got back and I am catching up.

It looks like the Expanded Narrative Boon just dropped for free for all DMs, and changed to once per season.

Nice! I've been fortunate enough to earn/win one each season since they debuted, and I definitely use all of my stars each season trying to squeeze in a table with friends.

Yah, unfortunately, this was one of the one's I'd hoarded for myself, so a little bumbed on that front, but am happy that it's now more open to everyone. I'd also lost out on all the Elemental Races. Arg!
But, all in all, it's not a bad problem to have, I guess.
| Dungeon Master S |
I have a slew of elemental race boons gathering dust. (And wayang. Happy to trade with anyone on that one.)
| Dungeon Master S |
Hey everyone, just a heads up, I'll be completely offline from Thursday night until Sunday night. I'm running 3 legs in a relay race that spans more than 200 miles. We run non-stop, so I won't be in any condition to post or check the boards until after sleeping in on Sunday.

Yah, that sounds awesome. Good luck and rock them.

I will be in transit for a bit as I make my way back to the states. I will try and keep up as much as I can but please bot me as needed.

Hey everyone. It looks like I forgot to hit this game earlier. I will be away Fri and most of Sat for my grandparent's funerals, and likely without internet. Probably will not be able to check up on game and will not be able to post. Sorry for the short notice, and please feel free to bot me.

No worries and safe travels. We are sorry to hear of the loss for you and your family.
| Dungeon Master S |
I'm sorry to hear that, and I can't help but notice the plural. Be well, and we'll be here when you get back.
| Dungeon Master S |
Since we have only the denouement remaining:
Roakar: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Roos: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Hugo: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Ignatious: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Atum: 1d20 ⇒ 1
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Boons win on a 16 or a 20 (not sure why 16, but it is)
Ignatious wins! This time we're not told the boon specifics, so you have to choose based on the hints below:
Player Boon #1: Sajan looks awesome in Horror Adventures
Player Boon #2: Fighting looks different depending on where you’re from.
Player Boon #3: You know what’s a good archetype? The Grenadier alchemist.
Player Boon #4: I hear you’re going to the elemental planes soon…
Player Boon #5: Over-specializing is always a good thing when it doesn’t cost anything…
Player Boon #6: FEAR ME! (over and over and over and over…)

Thanks everyone. I was deployed when my grandmother passed, so it's kind of nice to actually be here for her funeral, and in both cases, it's something I knew was coming, so I have had a lot of time to deal with things.

Just a heads up everyone, I'll be at Carnage on the Mountain this weekend from Friday afternoon until late Sunday. I'll do what I can to post, but I'm likely not going to be able to as I'm running games most slots. Feel free to bot me (unless I'm the GM.)
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame

Ok. I apologize to everyone as well. Very difficult time getting to get online as well.

I will be helping a buddy move cross country over the next 5 days or so. Apologies for the bad timing. Feel free to bot me as necessary.

FYI - Flying out tomorrow afternoon on business, will be back on Thursday night. So posting will likely be short and from my phone when I can.

long post, how do you keep it all straight
When I first started PbP, I literally had to learn everything from scratch. I was deployed, and I don't think at the time there was any PFS PbP community at all. In fact, at the time, I didn't even have any experience with PFS. Because the internet connection was so poor, (sometimes taking a solid minute to load a page), I got used to righting out a bunch of flavor text, leaving the conclusion blank, making rolls literally one by one, and previewing or editing posts in order as I went. I can't tell you haw many times I had a small wall of text ready that got lost, so I learned to copy/paste everything very fast.
When I run, I try to make sure I keep all the rolls out in the open, so I've just grow used to hitting preview a lot before actually making a post, and making sure to copy the entire test over and over again each time until finally ready to post.
Generally speaking, I try to make sure I make every roll in order, to avoid cheating, but also to help remind myself what all things I need to include. It also helps to minimize accidents ,because if I roll 10 separate d20 rolls, they will all be caught in order. But, in this case, where I had two possible crits, If I add in an addition two Confirmation rolls, it will alter everything after that. I know, the way my mind works, once I've noted that something succeeds or fails, I'll likely forget to change it later if it's changed, so I literally rolled every single attack roll, previewed it, (after copying the entire text), checked to see if I needed to make another roll right then (like a confirmation roll), added the next roll in, and then previewed it, after coping the entire text).
In other words, it kind of sucks, but, as a player, I hope it helps out the DM, who I know has a lot going on, and as a DM, helps me to get as much info/updates out at one time as I can.
| Dungeon Master S |
It definitely helps me! It's easy to sync up with how I update enemy HPs etc.
| Dungeon Master S |
Hey guys, we're approaching the climax for Part III.
I'm looking ahead. Roakar is likely gone. I've tried a few times to get in touch with him, but to no avail. My bandwidth is also shrinking a bit as real life keeps getting in the way. I hate to say it, but I think this one might be a good chance to wrap it up.
That being said, every single player in this game is someone I'll always recruit when available. As pick up games come and go, I'll be looking to you guys.
Next scene update is coming next period (10:15 ESTish.)
DM Beckett

Not a problem, I understand how that goes.

I was just thinking, if you need a little bit of a break, I don't mind at all taking a turn running some high level play. I also know that this might allow for some more options as far as what to run to open up.
I know I'd really like to get this character to 20, and if anyone else is interested in continuing on with different Modules/AP sections, I should be able to step in and take a turn at the helm.
At this point, just open to discussion, and obviously for after this is all finished.
Chris Marsh

THAT is a suggestion I can get behind! If you'd be willing that lets me recharge my batteries. Once Blood Under Absalom is done I'd be happy to jump back behind the screen.
I have a level 17 sorcerer and level 15 ranger free.
Hugo Victor
|
I certainly won't refuse an offer like that. I am also planning to start running some higher level stuff in 2017 since I will have 2-3 retired characters languishing at 12th level.
| Dungeon Master S |
To help, here's what I have open in standard:
Modules:
Wardens of the Reborn Forge - Part I 11-15
Wardens of the Reborn Forge - Part II 11-15
Wardens of the Reborn Forge - Part III 11-15
Academy of Secrets 12-14
Tomb of the Iron Medusa 13-15
The Moonscar 15-17
The Witchwar Legacy 16-18
APs preferred:
Rise of the Runelords
Curse of the Crimson Throne
Serpent's Skull
Shattered Star
Giantslayer
Skull & Shackles
APs available:
Carrion Crown
Jade Regent
Mummy's Mask
Hell's Rebels
APs not available (put here for completion):
Reign of Winter
Iron Gods
Atum Nakhti
|
I've played the high-level modules already but not some of the high-level AP stuff (but I have played RotR 6 and Shattered Star 6 and I am currently playing Mummy's Mask and Giantslayer so no to those too).

To help weed out what is available to everyone, could I get everyone to essentially copy the list and "strike out" all those that are absolutely not available for you are a player. This will allow us to narrow the list as much as possible.
@ Mike and/or Chris, I just wanted to be clear, the ones you selected are unavailable to you as a player for credit? The reason I ask is that you can have Player credit and DM credit, but can not apply a duplicate Chronicle on the same character.
@ QWERTY, are you interested?
@ All, is "The Moonscar" and "The Witchwar Legacy" 100% off the table?
Hugo Victor

All are good/open to me that we have NOT already played with this group.
Atum Nakhti
|
Yeah, your list looks good to me. And yes, I have both played and GM'd RotR 6 and SS 6 as well as the high-level modules. Well, I haven't run Wardens actually but I don't think I'd be up for running it either. All three parts is a big commitment.
Chris Marsh
|
The ones I said are not available are because I'm currently playing them in campaign mode and don't want to be spoiled for it.
Since my list was the base, there's no need to strike out.
Roos Randermin
|
I will pass on this. I am going to GM two games of the 3-7 evergreen soon and that will take up my time. apologies.
| Dungeon Master S |
QWERTY (et al). I'm slowly starting to build a repository of spell effect templates. I've got a master list to copy and past from. These are pasted in correctly, so you should just be able to CTRL C+V. Feel free to use (and by ALL MEANS) add.
DM Beckett I've got plenty of friends with some level 13 PCs who are amazing PbP players. Not sure the tiers work for that, but f we need people, we have some.
DM Beckett
|
Cool.
Something I've done for Spell templates is Ive created a single Google Drawings pages just for that, and I have it linked in under my profile for easy access.
Feel absolutely free to steal from there as well if you like.
I've added more than a few I can see being used as well.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame
|
So, looking over the list, I'm sort of drawn towards the last two sections of Serpent's Skull.
1.) because I've always wanted to know more about some of the things that happen within, 2.) as it would allow for two full levels, albeit over a pretty long time, and 3.) the Chronicles kind of look interesting.
One thing I did want to point out is that this is the only character I have anywhere close to range of 12+, so I am a bit limited in what I can do for credit.
Part 5 The Thousand Fangs Below, is level 13-15, which should be legal for all of us, (who should walk away from this at 15.2, if it doesn't have special XP rewards).
Part 6 Sanctum of the Serpent God, is levels 16-18, which means it might be problematic for characters who do not begin part 1 at 15th level, (unless they want to hold credit).
What does everyone think?
Hugo Victor
|
I am fine with the proposed mods with Hugo. I have my next two retired characters with exactly 12.0 so I was going to try taking one of them through EotT by burning stars/boons if it ever works out with my schedule .
Chris Marsh
|
So the party is:
GM:
Beckett
Players:
Hugo: Cleric/Ranger 15
Bishop: Ranger 15 2/3
Atum: Fighter Living Monolith 14
With GM permission I've got 3 friends whom I can vouch for. They all have level 13 2/3s ready to go. It doesn't help us with Sanctum of the Serpent God, but it does for right now.
Yeah, EF has the right of it, Wardens of the Reborn Forge is fun, but it's a huge commitment. I think I'll keep my next run of that to the physical table. Don't ge me wrong, it was fun to step in on that game!
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame
|
I'm perfectly fine with all three, really. And who knows. Perhaps a new module or something will open up.
Atum Nakhti
|
I'm fine with that plan, once I get back on the boards around January 2-3 or so.
I've got several other 12+ characters I could play too, although I really like Atum. I'm going to look over my characters though to make sure I don't want to switch before we start the next adventure.
| GM Aarvid |
Sounds good to me. If we stay with the 15's, Hugo will be my pick. If we go lower, then I may bring my paladin 12 to keep party levels closer.
Roos Randermin
|
I have a lvl 11.2 that just needs one more XP to go all the way to lvl 15 after his Wardens of the Reborn Forge credit kicks in. And I have a lvl 11.0 Fighter who needs 3 xp to get ROTRL credit and bump up to lvl 13. Maybe if i Can get those two leveled I will join you with them in the higher campaigns. Just want to take a break from playing a bard for a bit. Fun group though.
Hugo Victor
|
This is a very good group and I really enjoyed the storyline with this series.
Chris Marsh
|
Awesome! I don't know that they'll accept the invite, but we shall see!
Should we say that we'll start when EF gets back in January? It'll certainly give some time for Beckett to prep and for everyone to relax for the holidays.
GM, how do you feel about getting a thread open so those who are around can start getting to know each other and character picks?
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame
|
Sounds good. I'll work on that soon, although one thing I'd like is if you could get confirmation about if they are in, and particularly if the Serpent's Skull sections are ok. The reason I ask is that in the past I've done something similar, only to find out after making a new thread and directing people there that someone couldn't play the selected scenario.
If you are wanting to shut this one down, feel free to PM me. It's also a possibility that I could run maybe three parts, to get everyone closer to the level needed for the last two, although, IF we did this, I would probably push to make the first one a little bit of a faster game.
