Not sure if this has come up before. But I'm playing a life oracle in a couple games now. I chose positive for my focus, but due to backstory reasons I then picked up Inflict Light Wounds as one of my level 1 spell choices. So my question is this:
Does the Safe Curing revelation apply to inflict spells, or just cure spells?
This is important since in one game, I'd forgotten to buy a holy symbol due to not realizing yet I'd need one. So other then trying (badly) to hit the troll the party is fighting with my morning star, Inflict Light Wounds is my only offensive option. But I'm highly unlikely to make any acrobatics checks to avoid incurring an attack of opportunity. Thus why I picked safe curing for a revelation.

No, it would not help at all.
Safe Curing (Su): Whenever you cast a spell that cures the target of hit point damage, you do not provoke attacks of opportunity for spellcasting.
Are you curing the troll of hit point damage with that spell? No, so it would not be covered by the revelation.
Also note, it would require a concentration check, not an acrobatics check, to avoid an AoO while casting in combat so you might actually have a decent chance to avoid it after all.

Good to know, since this is the first time I've played an oracle (life or otherwise) it's a learning experience for me. The GM was all set to let me get a holy symbol then handwave it as always being on hand. But I said "No, it was my mistake. I'll get one in-game when I get a chance". I'm RPing it as the holy symbol was either destroyed in an out of game encounter my backstory references, or merely forgotten by mistake due to being distracted by a vision.

Not all spells require a divine focus (have DF listed in the components). Furthermore, oracles don't need one.
Oracles do not need to provide a divine focus to cast spells that list divine focus (DF) as part of the components.

Other then my cure spells, only combat spell I've got that doesn't need one is Inflict Light Wounds. My channeling revelation needs a divine focus, doesn't it? The book doesn't really mention oracles not needing one. I'd simply assumed since they weren't actually clerics. Then I noticed my spell print off and abilities list said I needed one.
Create water proved singularly ineffective as a distraction. And I fail to see how Purify Food and Drink would help fight a troll. Pretty sure Detect Magic, Detect Poison, and Detect Undead wouldn't help much either. Light, erm, maybe? If it was wearing a helmet or something that I was willing to touch? And considering the character's not exactly a linguist, being able to understand trollish wouldn't be much use either. :)
