Jakoby sits upon the ground, stuffs a bruorsivi nug into her custom wood pipe, and stokes it into a rolling flame, inhaling. Then, she pulls out her wayfinder, and turning the needle once round, activates a magic sequence.
◆) Activate Rugged Wayfinder (Possibly reduce that "Enfeebled 1 for 1 hour" condition)
Rugged Wayfinder
You have modified your wayfinder to absorb a small amount of your exhaustion, allowing you to continue exploring unhindered. When you purchase this boon, you apply its benefits to one wayfinder in your possession, granting you a special ability when the wayfinder is invested and in your possession.
As an action, you can reduce the severity of your clumsy, enfeebled, or sickened condition, reducing that condition’s value by 1.
You can safely use this benefit once per adventure. You can attempt to use it a second time, overcharging the wayfinder at the risk of destroying it. When you do so, roll a DC 10 flat check. On a success, the wayfinder is broken. On a failure, the wayfinder is destroyed. If anyone tries to overcharge a wayfinder that’s already been overcharged, the item is automatically destroyed (even if it has been repaired) and does not provide the activated benefit.

A large mirror hangs from a wall directly in front of a chair laden with heavy leather straps and a metal frame around the headrest. Playing out on the mirror is a scene of a fetchling couple trying futilely to hide behind a scarecrow as they're stalked by a laughing woman with a shaved head and multiple piercings.
A >female droomar< is tied to the chair. "Hmpf! Change the channel! I've watched this so-called nightmare a million times!" She laughs. "She's never here for the torture. I don't think she can handle someone who talks back!" Dinetrie laughs again even as Jakoby moves to remove her bindings. "Last time I made fun of her horns, told them she was overcompensating for her weakness. Her nightmares must be full of walking through sunny fields while the worlds are laughin' at her horns! Oh she hated that, stormed off in a huff." Dinetrie slowly steadies herself as she stands up for the first time in who knows how long.
"Every couple of days I meet someone new here. The first time they swear they'll break me. The third time, Aslynn broke them for failure. Haha, one time they forgot to tie me properly. I escaped and got to the Sky Dock. Aslynn's ship, the Gale's Claw is there. It can travel between planes of existence, you know? I was going to commandeer it and then return for the other scholars."
"Two problems though. There's a planar net in the bell tower. No one can leave this plane without disabling it first. I did that and before they could reset it I went to the Sky Dock. Second problem, you need a lot of people to actually pilot the thing. I can chart maps no problem but I'm no ace pilot." She coughs, maybe the first time in a while she stopped talking.
"So what, are you part of the rescue squad?"
Doc Bloodshanks
|
Doc listens to Dinetrie's story, offering her a healing vial. "Here, have a sip of this, it'll help fortify you until we can get some proper healing done."
He glances around at the other Pathfinders, then his eyes rest on Narcela. "Aslynn's not here ... Would she have taken the Gale's Claw on her journey, do you think, or would it still be here? We have a sufficiently large contingent, I believe, to properly crew it. Depriving her of such a craft would be a serious blow to her strategic options for future moves against those on other planes."
Doc Bloodshanks
|
He begins ticking off activities on his fingers. "We would get Dinetrie to safety with the others, check out the trophy room, take out the planar net, and then get everyone over to steal the Gale's Claw. We would still have enough power in Lumna as a backup escape plan ... well before Aslynn is slated to return."
