I could be that this in some other thread but i didnt found anything.
Since my campaign is at an critical point i need to know how to handle some 2 spells.

First.
If one casts mage private sanctum and a cleric or wizard enters the
protected area with active detection spells do they work in the sanctum area?

Second.

Arcane sight greater lets you detect a magic auras and b casterlevel and spellcaster abilities if one has ist.

So if a thief is hiding in shadow with magic items would he be detected by a wizard with greater arcane sight because the wiz seees the auras of his items?

Point two assuming one is overtaken by a ghost with malevolence and the
ghost has caster level.
Would the Wiz see that a group member has gained spellcasting abilities all of a sudden or not?

Any advice welcome.

Well, only divination (scrying) spells are specifically prevented from working. Other types of divination magic can still work, so it matters what spell it is specifically.

Corrected spell names and added links.

Within the sanctum:
Divination (scrying) will not work.
Detect thoughts will not work.
Other detects may, depending on their descriptors.
Arcane sight is not scrying, so works.

Seeing the unseen:
The hiding thief will show as an aura in a square, but will not reveal the thief. This was mentioned somewhere in the threads on stealth that you cannot use detect magic to target an invisible character.

Autodetecting:
No, because he would have to stop and study the member first. However, when he does study the member, if there is a gain or loss of spellcasting/SLAs, he will learn of it.
