Hello fellow forum member as most things in pathfunder they don't stack, diflection bonus don't stack, armor bonuses don't stack, moral bonus don't stack etc... My question today is how does the rules work with natural armor? I ask becaus I've seen a couple examples of it stacking.
The first example I found was in the Npc codex where all of the dragon disciples had amulets of natural armor and it stacked for them.
The second example is that tiefling a have an alternative racial trait that gives them 1 natural armor and resist 5 to 1 element in stead of resist 5 to 3 elements, well there's a tiefling feat called armor of the pit which gives 2 natural armor and if you have the alternative racial trait it gives you resist 5 to a second element.
So does natural armor stack or what?

No they do not stack
Natural armor doesn't stack.
Amulets of natural armor add an enhancement bonus to your natural armor, similar to the enhancement bonus you put on your normal armor.
Your second example is not actual an example. The feat says that you gain +2 natural armor, but if you have the trait, instead of getting +2 natural armor you gain resist 5 to two more elements.
It depends on the source (and the bonus type more specifically).
As an example, the amulet of natural armor is an enhancement bonus to AC. That will stack with natural armor granted from something like beast shape, which just gives a natural armor bonus.
These are type different types of bonuses.
However, if you have two sources of things which just grant natural armor bonus or two sources of enhancement bonus to natural armor those do not stack.
An example would be amulet of natural armor and the barkskin spell, both are enhancement bonuses to natural armor. They do not stack.

So then for the tiefling if was gonna take the feat why would I ever take the alternative racial trait?
you wanted 3 resist 5 and a +1 natural armor. instead of +2 natural armor.

But if i don't take the alternative racial trait I can have resist 5 to 3 elements and +2 natural armor
