What kind of damage is the bonus damage from bombs?
"The damage of an alchemist's bomb increases by 1d6 points at every odd-numbered alchemist level (this bonus damage is not multiplied on a critical hit or by using feats such as Vital Strike)."
Is the bonus damage precision damage? Would an elemental ignore that portion of the damage? I guess no but I wanted to be sure and ask those who will know.

It's not precision damage. It's simply damage that isn't multiplied on a critical hit. Treat it like the extra damage from a Flaming/Frost/Shock/Corrosive weapon. An elemental of the correct type would ignore this damage, but only because they are the correct type, not because they are immune to crits. It's elemental damage like the rest of the bomb.

It isn't base damage per say. Base damage is multiplied by crit. The extra d6 are not.
However a bomb is very much written to be the exception. Either you consider it Base damage that isn't multiplied or you consider it precision damage that's not ignored by the effects... no matter how you square it the result is the same.
It will be extra energy damage of the same type as the bomb. Usually fire unless altered.
In this way it's unique but it's pretty clearly spelled out what the exceptions are.
