So I am starting a new game and my rogue player want a fake document in his possession stating he works for some high level lord. I know he can make it with Ling. skill but he can not afford the Forge kit.
He wants to buy one but i have no idea how to price it for him. Any help here appreciated, this is a first for me.

Pretty serious favor, too - because autocratic rulers tend to take a dim view of people forging their name and chop. (Dim, in this case, being 'lose the offending hand'.)
That said, you might consider how valuable that noble's word (or working for him) is; if working for Baron Remote might get you a position in Duke Awesome's kitchen, that's one thing, perhaps worth 2-5 gp; if working for Duke Awesome is going to get you onto Baron Remote's privy council, that's something entirely different, and might be worth 100gp or more. If it gets you into a sensitive or influential position with a major leader, you might be talking thousands.

I'm playing a character in a large online game who specialises in making "accurate replicas" for collectors. I've given other players such items for minimal cost, in return for first bidding rights on items they may procure via using said replicas. This gets me access to valuables that I might not otherwise receive, as well as giving me potential blackmail if the players end up in a position of power.
This could work as a potential plot hook, as the forger could offer a document in return for rare papers and inks, and could return later on as a potential antagonist, or could sell the information to an established villain.
The world of white collar crime is a tricky place, if someone is offering something for free, it's got a hidden price. The rogue could end up learning that the hard way :)
