So I checked out Megafeats Revisited.

Product Discussion

So I made another review blog post today.

This is one of those times where I wish I had a camera or a good microphone so I could post my reviews as a vlog or podcast. Just because I want to express my feelings through screaming. Well as promised I went and took a deeper look at some things I haven't reviewed because I didn't care for them enough to bother. Fortunately I don't know of anything much worse in terms of squick content, although I've skimmed Fursona, and I will fully read and review later, and that book brings up the subject of yiff and how its okay to ignore it, but bringing it up in the first place was worse than trying to urge the reader to handle it maturely. This makes me nervous because I have a bunch of unsorted books from the same people that I had intended to review and I seriously hope this isn't a common thing. For Pete's sake there's a feat that allows you to amp your charm person spells by feeding the target your menstrual blood. And for some reason women get all kinds of powers, like getting +2 to Str and Dex during their period. I don't want to sit through several products of that.

Oooh, nice review. I gotta pick that up...

(just kidding - thanks for steering me away from this one)

You can get bonuses for having sex for an hour. There is a feat where if you have sex for approximately one hour you get a +2 insight bonus on WILL saves, Perception checks and Craft and Knowledge (religion) checks. Someone wrote that down and thought they should charge money.

There's another where you can heal creatures by spreading your period blood on them.

Honestly if it weren't for the typos, lack of proper rules language, bad formatting, and disregard for balance I'd rate it higher for being concise and insane. But really its just unusable and insane which is ten times worse because it sucks the sense of maturity right out of the product. Its the only product I've ever seen that was terrible on this many levels, to the point where I feel compelled to insult it, and I'm holding myself back right now in that regard.

Sounds like he re printed a lot of stuff from Black Tokyo, to be honest.

Thanks for the heads up Malwing, the product description doesn't seem to mention anything about adult content.

It does not—I've deactivated the product pending further review.

The only clue is listing 'Zooamorous Breeder' and 'Tantric Wisdom' as feats. It can be argued that it dances around being explicitly adult content but a feat that makes you last longer in bed (and get benefits from it) gores straight into adult content territory. Earlier on you have, and I'm copy-pasting here; "You are the product of an unusual sexual encounter between a human and an animal, magical beast or similar exotic creature.". This is one of the feat descriptions that is NOT Zooamorous Breeder so I'm counting two feats that directly involve bestiality. And because of the wording it isn't broad and ambiguous like, say, a Sorcerer's bloodline where dragon blood can get into a guy any number of ways.

But yeah. These kind of products need some kind of a label. I'm not even sure if Paizo lets content like this use the Pathfinder Patch let alone show up on the site's store.

The Compatibility License outright states that adult content isn't okay when claiming and using the Pathfinder Compaitiblity Logo...but what is regarded as "adult" is very much a gray area.
Either way, it will get reviewed.

I am sorry to say but when ever I see the name Chris A Field on a product I give it a pass. I say this because I have purchased his stuff before and have always been disappointed. Just my experience.

What is the rest of his stuff unbalanced references to bestiality and periods?

Please be sure to either include Jessica Price in this review or at the very least let her know that it is going on. She is definitely familiar with at least one other infamous work from the publisher of this PDF.

Speaking of which, I noticed that some reviews of Fursona, from the same company referencing the existence of sexual content. I've only skimmed it and I'm not on a computer where I have access to it right now so I can't confirm but reviews include;

"There is a handful of mature content in this book. To some extent that goes along with knowing their market, as stated above, but some of it seems to be put in merely to tap that market. Not everyone is comfortable with a game that contains highly sexual themes, but this is a minor issue as groups can choose to avoid these abilities amongst themselves, but because of the content I wouldn’t recommend this book for groups containing young or immature players."

"Okay lets get this out of the way, the books sidebars and acknowledgement of furrydom makes it a bit of a creepy read, but to be honest, it's easily ignored if you're mature and there is a good system in the book. "

"The writing is fairly clear, but the repeat sexual references (the book even uses the words "Yiff" and "Futanari" in a side bar! eep!) could have been left out altogether and would not have impacted the system at all. There are also many Group Traits that seem to add nothing to the character but show different styles of copulation while still costing points. "

"In summary, Fursona is a game that is very much 'By Furries, For Furries.' The very writing style and content of the book help perpetuate the sexual stereotypes of the furry fandom, but it also has enough rules to help a Dungeon Master out if they have a character that absolutely must play a bipedal nine-tail fox."

"Personally I don't mind certain aspects of fantasy gaming, but I know some folks are easily squicked; so the yiff stuff was unnecessary. In my opinion the folks at Skortched Urf should have done a kind of Black Tokyo version on the side for all the sexual based options and it would make the book a lot more accessible to the general gaming public. "

Is this just a common thing for Skortched Urf. I'm drafting a review for material that I got from DrivethruRPG and I'm noticing things like 'battle lingerie' which makes me fear that this is a chronic thing. I'll be posting some reviews on OBS at some point.
