According to the Feral Combat Training FAQ (which is no longer valid for FCT), it's an effect that augments an unarmed strike, it would work.
Also, this will only work for a non-elemental fist Kineticist as they have a limiter that you can only use fists.
It's still an awful power compared to Kinetic Blade, even if you combine it with Ascetic Form.

My question is could I use Ascetic Style, to pull off a Pummeling Charge, and Dragon style combo with a Temple sword?
I know you would need a way to have more styles going at once. But if you could have 3 styles running at once (like a Style Fighter, or Master of many styles) would it work?
To me it seems so.

Even if Ascetic Strike's wording doesn't allow it, Ascetic Form's does. The comparison to style strikes even suggests the fist only Flurry of Blows could use this style.

Not really.
You can argue it's still too expensive for a build, but combining it with Ascetic Form can seriously up the power. Kinetic Blade has a lot of minor and easily overlooked drawbacks that Kinetic Fist doesn't.
Kinetic Blade has a once on your turn drawback. Kinetic Fist is basically whenever you are attacking. It's free damage that ignores spell resistance! It scales poorly, but it can be applied judiciously. If you have an offhand attack, hey that's free damage! And none of the text on d20 I've read prevents you from using Kinetic Fist and Kinetic Blade in the same round. It doesn't have to be X or Y, it can be both.
Furthermore, you are opening up the option of magical weapons and typically Monk centric feats and tactics.
