Hello hello hello! If any of you reading at home (or work, or wherever your reading this from) have been looking at the advice forum recently, you will have seen some of my posts! My name is Dresdran and I love making characters and builds in various games, and now that I've found Pathfinder I've been devoting quite a bit of spare time to doing just that! Alas, I have been unable to actually get into a Pathfinder game so in the meantime I've been making odd characters. This is where you come in, as I am but a poor newbie who desires the expertise of others in order to make these diamonds in the rough really shine (or at least sparkle a wee bit).
Today I've been thinking of something else. This time instead of having a character that I wish to present to you all and have your help in refining him, I wish for some help in creating a character based off of non-Pathfinder character and give him the old Pathfinder treatment.
Today's specimen is Ala'din the Mischievous, basically Aladdin (the one from the Disney movie, not the Thousand and One Nights version. Although if it works better ... well we'll see). I do not have a backstory as of yet, but I have a basic outline of what I think would suit him.
For race we are going to Oread and take the Mostly Human alternate racial ability and grab the Shaitan Binder archetype for summoner! Then we nab ourselves a skill focus in knowledge. This means at level 3 we can get the Eldritch Heritage feat and the arcane bloodline. And viola, we now have a monkey familiar to go along with our chaotic little summoner.
This is why I require some major assistance, for I have had some experience as various classes from homebrew and D&D 5E. The Summoner, however, is completely new to me. Any help from you all would be greatly appreciated.

Oread is not a legal option for Racial Heritage.
Ah damn, you're right. Looks like we gotta go with a Mostly Human Oread then. A bit saddening but you are correct, they are outsiders.
Gonna edit the first post to say Mostly Human Oread. Thanks for that (how the hell I forgot that the Geniekin are outsiders I will never know).

I like it. However, I'm not sure that Aladdin is a summoner. He strikes me more as a rogue with the Carnivalist Archetype. You can still get an albeit less powerful Eidolon through VMC Summoner. It won't be a perfect genie, but you can take the unchained eidolon Earth Elemental template and name it whatever you want (Shaitan).

There is always that option. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I was under the impression that the Robin Williams genie was a Marid.
Well really if we want to get technical I do remember him being able to fly, so if anything he would be a Djinni not a Marid or Shaitan. As it stands it just seems a wee bit more appropriate for the eidolon to be a Shaitan (with the Shaitan Binder it makes it easier for him to cast magic by giving him one free magic evolution per tier, i.e. gaining one thing of basic, minor, major, and ultimate).
Although I do admit his broad body does lend itself to a Marid or a Shaitan.

I dunno man Marids are supposed to be the blue wish giving genies where shaitans are typically associated as being evil with the word itself being all but synonymous with Satan in other cultures.
Mechanically you might be fine, unless you are better off playing something other than a summoner in order to get the theme more correctly, like a rogue or a slayer. I would recommend more of a magic item with binding and Planar Ally.
Possibly, a reflavored lamp?

Quoteception! As it stands Marid are Chaotic Neutral while Shaitan are actually Lawful Neutral. They're not evil on Pathfinder, they're just not good. Djinni are Chaotic Good, while Efreei are Lawful Evil. Now the Div and their leader Ahriman are completely f*#~ing evil (Chaotic Evil).

Robin Williams Genie is absolutely a Djinni Vizier in Pathfinder terms (which are not entirely the same as the Islamic canon regarding genies). It's particularly apt since the Disney movie Genie is absolutely Chaotic Good (albeit bound by the power of the lamp).
Ya, the more I think about it the more genie really would be a Djinni. I think I'll keep my Shaitan Binder idea, but I think twould be more appropriate to make him a different character. The funny thing is is that I am not a huge fan of Disney (kinda outgrown some of the old stuff), I just find it kinda funny to have those two (three if you could Aladdin, Genie, and Abu) together in Pathfinder.

ok the way i would do it is as such
Scion of Humanity Musetouched Aasimar with Racial Heritage Oread at first level, take levels in shaitan binder and then take the familiar bond feat from the Familiar Folio (and no Improved Familiar Bond since the monkey seems less like a full familiar and more like Disney's "intelligent pet" thing they do)

Apparently (and I learned this myself) you can't pick Oread for the Racial Heritage because Oreads are Outsiders and not Humanoids.

oh. i thought what they were saying upthread was that oread couldn't TAKE racial heritage since they arent human, wwell if thats the case you can still just have an earth elemental using the unchained summoner

After perusing the Unchained Summoner I must say that while it is nice that it is a simpler version of the class, I must admit that I really do like the flavor of basically having my own Shaitan-esque minion following me around (especially with the limited wish ability I could get if Ala'din ever reached 20).
