I will be playing in a one-shot where we are going up against a group that employs undead and shadow magic. I'm buidling a wizard for the party. The party includes a barbarian, ranged paladin, rogue, bard, and another undetermined. Clerics will have reduced spellcasting, so I was looking at a wizard. I'm in need of help in the build for countering undead and shadow magic, or creatures from the plane of shadow.
Thanks, ahead of time.

Of the top of my head, I can't think of anything that particularly hinders those. So go abjurer and counter those like you would any other kind of spell.
Death ward might be useful, depending on the kind of necromancy used.
Creatures from the plane of shadow might have light vulnerability, so look into light spells (I think most are conjuration).
Best of luck!
P.S.: I don't know if hibrid classes are allowed, but with the right exploits an Arcanist might be better at counterspelling than a wizard.

personally? i would say go Witch instead, it will give you access to the all-important heal spells and you can take Hex Channeler to gain extra Positive Energy goodness, plus you get access to a few light spells to dispel the darkness (see if you can play a samsaran for Mystic Past Life to get more light spells). If its only CLERICS getting nerfed then i would say to take a look at Life Oracle as well.

make necromancer focused on Animate dead (fight fire with fire )
I've thought about that. I've also considered making a Shadow focused wizard to travel and be more comfortable in a foreign atmosphere. There would be plenty of opportunities to use the shadow magic. Maybe an Illusionist wizard?
The only issue with a necromancer is that I have a feeling that the undead will be highly resistant to any turning or controlling.

Ironically, the best way to f&+& with necromancy is more necromancy. Chaining Command Undead will turn all those enemy minions into your minions, and those huge bloody storm giant skeletons too(no save for your standard undead, so who cares about the DC). And wizards love rolling fortitude saving throws, so break out the heightened persistent blindness. Mix and Match your favorite CC spells(dazing chain lightning if you're high enough level) and you're golden.
