Hey guys, I am currently GMing the Rise of the Runelords campaign for a group of new players, including myself. We have had two sessions so far and are having a great time. However, I find myself wanting to experience being a player of a campaign as well. I feel like it will make me a better GM. I posted in the general forums and someone recommended playing by post as a way to get my rpg fix for someone who doesn't have the time for another in person group. I'm completely new to this any campaigns recruiting?

It's me again. :)
Usually, on the Recruitment board, people will list information about the games they are hosting, then players can look through each of those posted games and find one that suits their whims. Then, using the information in the post, they'll put together a character (possibly using an alias created in "My Account") and post in the thread indicating their interest.
I actually have a game I'm running in Recruitment right now. Take a look at it and see if it sounds interesting to you - I'm perfectly happy to have new players be a part of the group.
Alternatively, this thread is designed to let players list their characters in a Google spreadsheet, so when someone is recruiting for a particular game, they can go to the list and pull players from it. Not a bad way to go, although there's no guarantee of being invited quickly.

Precisely. There's a link to the character sheet template I use in that thread if you'd like to use it.
I do have several other submissions you'll be considered against, but unfortunately competition's the nature of the beast.
You can go ahead and post in that thread so you can keep track of it easier, and we'll keep talking in there. Sound good?
