Kindle and Paizo PDFs

Silver Crusade

Hello fellow Pathfinders. I am brand new on the message boards. I have a question. I have a Kindle. And I have purchased Hard Copies at my local game stores and I have purchased downloads also.

My question is this: with the beautiful artwork in each Paizo Product, IF you do NOT get the Hard Copy - do you prefer to read your product on your laptop, desktop OR are you satisfied with reading it on your Color Kindle ??

I have never tried it on my Kindle yet and I wonder with a 6" screen, would it be enjoyable or frustrating?

With the cost of printing, ink and the HEAVY artwork load - I have been frustrated when trying to print out the Rules for Society Play for myself. Just looked awful.

My laptop is good for reading when at home, but I do not want to carry ANOTHER thing to games in addition to my sportbag with my books in it.

(Staples charges 50 cents per page for color printing which would add $16.00 to the cost of a printed pdf product and I assume not look as nice either..)

What have you been the MOST satisfied with when using, reading, printing your PDF's?

I do most all of my PDF reading on my first gen iPad. I do some on my computer as well.

Skeld, how big is that? And have you ever printed out some pages for yourself to use in a game?

I sometimes put pdfs on my Kindle. They're small and you have to enlarge the text to read it, but I don't mind doing that.

DungeonmasterCal - do you ever print them? And do you have to go to Staples to get a good copy?

Once I download them onto my laptop, how do I get them onto my Kindle? I usually download them straight from the Paizo website.
And do I download the one chapter per file or all in one huge download?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Okay, this is not easy. But it IS easier....
Instead of one file per chapter, I downloaded the entire thing.
Not exactly sure how I did this,
BUT it does look BEAUTIFUL on my Kindle !!!!!

When I get this down pat, I am going to be LOVING THIS !!!

I prefer printed copies, to be honest. But I get them printed for free by a friend at her workplace...shhh...lol

iPads have a 10" screen. I zoom in on one of the columns to read. Though I have a few books, I have them mostly on PDF and I find it easier to read there. To each his own I suppose.

On my iPad, I read them with the tablet's long side horizontal and with the PDF set to "fit width."
