Seeking Replacement DM for Rise of the Runelords

Recruitment

We're a mismatched band of underdogs, short on magic and long on punching, whose DM has been gone for three weeks now. We're hoping to find someone to pick up the torch for our campaign, barely started, and carry on with us so we can fight the rise of the runelords!

Here's our discussion page.

Bumping; I'm another member of the party.

Shadow Lodge

I'd consider it. I have the book and have run the adventure twice now. Once regular and once mythic. (please don't ask about going mythic...such a pain that was, lol)

Tell me about your characters and about the campaign thus far. (I have read most of it already, but would like to hear it in your words.)

The story thus far:

Once upon a time a hill spirit, a living flame, a riflewoman, and a handsome Ulfen with a limp and a fixation on forges visited a city in the midst of a festival celebrating the consecration of a new cathedral.

That night, after some fun and games, goblins attacked the city. The citizens were in danger! Luckily, the four travelers, even though they were strangers, were special. They were the flame in the darkness, and they collectively helped protect the people and repel the goblins.

Shadow Lodge

So you just defended the town. How many waves of Goblins?

Does everyone have a facebook account they can use to log in to a maps application?

Grand Lodge

Looks like we did one or two waves of goblins. We were a bit split up during the event. And when it did take place, we did theater of the mind when we did it.
And I have to say it was a bit.. Clunky? Hopefully the way you propose will be easier to figure out where is what.

And Mary's background is that she grew up in Absalom, more or less, and then joined the Pathfinder Society for adventure. When her training as an initiate was almost done, she received a letter from her uncle. The letter said that she should visit, and that he had something for her, if he wasn't around by then, Mr Horsk, the stablemaster would hold it for her. And as such, she comleted training and asked to go to Sandpoint to see about the information she received and they allowed her to go since there are some ruins nearby.

Mary got there on the day of the Festival, and went around the town, enjoying it. When the goblins attacked, she did her best to protect the people of the town. And afterwards, she met up with the other protectors of the town in the town square. And thats it.

Tsakua hadn't planned on being in Sandpoint during the festival, and isn't much at home among the people (a little suspicious after being abandoned at Sandpoint by the circus he travelled with). As it is, he's been living hand to mouth doing odd-jobs for the townsfolk.

On the eve of the Swallowtail festival, Tsakua was actually on an errand for Ven Vinder, to scare away his daughter's suitor. On the way, Tsakua noticed the goblins about to attack, and ended up running to the defense of the young couple. After defeating the goblins by the stage, he ran into the others.

Not really having a purpose for being in town, but with nowhere else to go (and no money to use to get there) Tsakua is sort of indifferent to the town of Sandpoint itself. Despite this, he'll never back down from a fight.

And yup, Facebook.

Shadow Lodge

Ok. That tells me a lot.

Is it just the three players then?

Kent has been in Sandpoint now for several years, working as a smith after leaving his family's farm after an argument that led to a brutal fight between himself and his older brother. He'd been looking forward to the festival, and upon noticing the goblin attack took up arms against them, doing as he does and throwing himself into the thick of the fight.

At the moment, he's making sure the dog the goblins cut open is going to be okay, although it seems as though his bandaging job will be enough to help him for now. Having just met Mary and hearing Tsakua mention needing to find another acquaintance, he's trying to help Mary to the home of the Vinders.

A total of four. As you can see we're a sort of unusual party. The only magic is mine, and as an oracle it's limited. Two brawlers means we're going to be doing a lot of punching and our solution to traps will most likely involve hoping they don't do too much damage. But at least there will be plenty of cover for our riflewoman.

I do have a Facebook account for mapping, if necessary.

Shadow Lodge

Have you met the man the dog was trying to defend?

Grand Lodge

Somewhat. I believe I managed to save the dog. After I fired, the goblin turned around and charged me. >.>

And I do have facebook. Though what you are talking about is new to me.

Shadow Lodge

Map Link

Can everyone please check if this map link works? Feel free to play around with the UI and make sure it makes sense.

If I GM, this is the medium we will use for the maps.

Grand Lodge

Looks like it works for me. And it looks neat.

Works for me too. That's a nice piece of software.

I guess that depends on which dog you're referring to; there was a dog with Mary, but another dog got stabbed by the goblins when they were originally spotted, which was the dog Kent moved to help. He's unaware of the dog that was with Mary.

Kent hasn't met the man that dog belongs to, as far as I know.

Shadow Lodge

Cool. I think I will give this a go with y'all. I will give a wall of text by Saturday sometime which will take some liberties, but set the tone and get us all on one page.

Does that work for everyone?

Grand Lodge

Cool! Thank you.

looks great. Excited to get started again!

Same! I'll hold off until our wall of text before posting in the thread. I guess we should all migrate back to the campaign thread now and call this one a win!
